DVD-VR320 combo DVD player

Hi, please help. I purchased this DVD/Video combo to do many things. It copies video to DVD easily but I can't get it to copy recorded programmes from my sky+ planner. I've tried the sky copy feature which looks like its running properly but when I check the DVD ram disc it's just a blank screen. I know the disc is not the problem.
For some reason if I am in DVD mode when I scoll through prog/trk to find sky+ it is full of lines and strange colours and doesn't look tuned. I can't change through sky+ channels using the samsung remote. Despite something being on the screen it still records a black screen.
If I'm watching sky+ and press record on the DVD it again records a black screen.
I must have tried 20 different combinations of cables through the tv's scarts and DVD player but I just can't figure this out!
can anyone out there tell me where I'm going wrong.
Thanks
Nick

I think its the dvd players internal settings that need to be adjusted. If there is a menu set the sky box to the connection it is plugged into. Although this might sound strange some units when you connect them up will play fine through that input but unless the settings of the player is adjusted iut will record a blank screen because its default setting for recording might not be either the connection method you are using or the input you are using. I hope this makes sense.

I cannot copy commercially recorded VHS tapes to DVD. Msg comes up saying it is COPY PROTECTED. Heard that if for personal use only I am permitted to copy tapes. Any way around this?

No,this can be done only copyright materials through the VHS box converter run through a computer with a programs call copy decoders programs.Than u can copy VHS copy protected matrials.Than u reburn it back to DVD disc.So this require alot of work, time and money so not worth it to copy commercially VHS tapes to DVD Disc.

Samsung VR320, video plays sound, but no picture

Either try changing video cable, or you may have loose solder joints on the video jack connection that will need to be resoldered.

Dvds recorded on video to dvd recorder wont play elsewhere

Mosr DVD recorders have a "compatible" setting or require you to "finalise" the disc. Check that is being done.

It's also worth checking that the laptop will play other DVDs sometimes you need a codec.

Not able to copy entire vhs to dvd

What is the recording speed of your tapes and DVD? SP SLP, etc. on tape SP SLP XP on DVD? That will determine the length of th recorded tape and the recording time the DVD can hold.

SCREEN SAYS "SAFE" ?DO IDO TO GET RID OF IT???????/

To remove "SAFE" from the front display, using the remote control, press and hold "INFO" for 5 seconds until it disappears. This was probably acitivated while you stopped a recording which can trigger it, of you may have activated "Safe" by pressing the INFO button several times. This is to prevent access of the recorder by locking all controls. This is for the DVD Recorder/VCR combo VR320 and the 1st generation DvD Recorder DVR-130.

Even though this was a product I regret purchasing, it isn't as bad a people make it out to be. It works best with DV cable recording from 1 Hour Mini-DV tape camcorders to 1 Hour XP Record DVD mode. It is probable one of the best. Only issue I have is when you try playing a finalized DVD-R disc in another DVD player, there is a chance it might not work because of the Highest quality 1 Hour record mode. Standard is 2 Hour SP. You will have to burn an exact copy using DVD copy software on your computer to DVD-R. This will fix the problem.

No. This is to try and prevent "pirating" of those movies. If you Must make copies for "archival" purposes, you will have to buy some sort of time base corrector to copy these...accordianman
