The battery chargers that are included with JVC camcorders sold in the U.S. are designed to operate on power from 110 to 240 Volts at 50 or 60 Cycles AC. All that is needed to use the battery charger overseas is a plug adapter to connect into a foreign electrical outlet. These are generally available from a store which carries electrical supplies.

Can I use my Weather Forecaster #00821SBDI successfully overseas where the mains frequency is 50Hz. I can take care of the voltage difference.

Read the fine print on the power supply (the part that plugs into the wall). You may find 120-240 V or VAC, meaning that you don't need any converter - just a plug adapter. You'll probably also find 50-60 hz as the frequency range, meaning that you're good to go with just a plug adapter.

Can i play my ipod nano overseas

With the proper AC adapter for the country or countries you are going to visit while overseas. You need the adapter to recharge the nano when its battery runs out. So, load up your nano with songs, videos and photos, take the USB wall charger, the 30-pin or Lightning USB cable and the AC adapter and enjoy your overseas trip and your nano !

Work overseas

Yes is the simple answer. But you need to be aware that different countries use different voltages in their electricity networks and so if you're going to want to charge your computer battery, then you will need to check the voltage in the country you're going to AND its polarity and possibly even buy a battery charger made specifically for your laptop from a reputable computer outlet in each of the countries you visit.

What are the differences in Nikon 'overseas' models as US models?

It depends. Nikon USA has a strong tendency to not honor warranties originating in other countries. If you feel you don't need the warranty, go for it.

There shouldn't be any differences in the batteries themselves. The chargers, of course, are adapted to the local voltage and outlet configuration.

Overseas Use

Yes. The power supplies and battery chargers supplied with all Powershot Digital Cameras are designed to work on input voltages from 100-240 volts (50/60 Hz). The only item that you may need is a plug adapter that allows you to plug the U.S. type power supply or battery charger into the foreign type wall outlet. Plug adapters should be easily available at a local electronics store.
