This switch does not operate any function on the battery. It is simply used as a self reference tool. You can switch it to RED to tell yourself it’s charged and BLACK to tell yourself it’s un-charged.

Cant get the fan to go without the light being on

You have it wired wrong.
Power should leave single switch in a black hot wire and arrive at fan box on ceiling.
Your ceiling box will have at least 1 black Hot wire and 1 white Neutral
The fan will have 3 wires for connection purpose. Black, blue-or-red, and white.
Twist Black + blue-or-red together and connect to Black Hot wire from switch.
Connect fan white to white neutral.

  1. Turn off the camcorder.
  2. Disconnect AC power adapter.
  3. Remove the battery pack.
  4. Remove the lithium button-cell battery.
  5. Move the POWER switch to the CAMERA position for 15 seconds.
  6. Move the POWER switch to the OFF position.
  7. Reinsert the lithium button-cell battery.
  8. Reconnect the AC power adapter or reinsert the battery pack.
  9. Turn on the camcorder.
