Question about Video Cameras

PC won't recognise videocam

I can't get the PC to recognise the videocam.

I've got everything connected as shown in the manual.

Also, sometimes the USB lead starts to warm up (sometimes it doesn't - don't know why) which must be wrong. I pull the lead out when this happens.

I have a 2 month old HP 64-bit PC and after having purchased the SDR-H40 camcorder 2 weeks ago, I find that the software that panasonic provides is not compatible with a 64-bit system. Now what?

I have other video editing software that I can use but it seems the drivers for the camera are on the CD that panasonic provides. I can't even download the drivers for my PC to recognize the camera so I can edit the video on other software.

    Any suggestions?

Hdmi out won't work

It'd be more helpful to know what kind of computer you're using and what operating system you have, eh hem, but still consider the following tip. Sometimes when Windows reports that a device is working properly (even though it isn't), it can be forced to deal with the issue by uninstalling the device. For something built in to the actual motherboard (such as HDMI), just go into your Device Manager and track down the controller. Right click and select Remove. Don't worry that you're 'removing' the device. When you reboot your computer the BIOS will notice the difference in state and will load the drivers for the device anew. Then it should work.

BIOS won't recognise SATA hdd.BIOS is Pheonix-Award BIOS v6. 00PG. Do you think I need to update the BIOS?

Hi, according to your mobo manual it supports SATA1/SATA2 hard drives so it's recommended to update BIOS, the latest I found it has release date 2006-06-29, you can find it in the folllowing link: Support For K8MM MSI Global

My computer won't read the new camera I've got. Even after installing all info from cd. Have tried camera and it works on tv. It won't let recognise the device on problem either. What can I do?

A camera that works connected to a TV without software is not the proper device to connect to a computer. Check again with your packaging and instructions.
Having a camera working on the computer and then porting the video signal to a TV monitor is the preferred arrangement.
Install the software, reboot, then connect a PC camera, it should be recognized and be testable on Skype, etc.

Dell Latitude D610 won't recognize my wireless card after reinstalling windows when the old hd failed. Have installed all the drivers I can find, it still says that there is not wireless adapter connected...

Open Device Manager and expand "Network Adaptors"
Check to make sure you have a wireless adaptor shown.
If no wireless adaptor is shown I would suggest you contact Dell Support. When posting for computer assistance it always helps to say what your Operating System is.
Sometimes Windows 10 for example will not recognise hardware designed for earlier OS.

Problem installing a genius VideoCam Messenger

Try restarting the computer with the device unplugged, and then when you are in Windows and everything has loaded, plug your Web Cam into a "different" USB port than you originally had it plugged into.

Now the drivers should install your device.
