Hi. You can watch a movie with your device. And also the software you have to use while watching should depend on the codec of the movie. If it is a DivX coded movie, you should use a third party software in your pocketpc in order to see the video, but if the movie is in a windows media codec, you can simply transfer the video and watch it in your pocketpc, since your device is a windows based device. (If you find a lower resolution version of the movie, or lower the movie's resolution by yourself in order to maximise the movie experience in your pocketpc). For DivX encoded movies, you can use this software: (http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/10/15/divx-mobile-player-v091.html). Hope this helps.
The viewty will play .avi (divx) and MP4 files providing the display resolution is not above 320x240. If the the display resolution is above this for either format, you will receive a "file type is not supported" error. Please be aware that the viewty CAN play Divx .avi, Xvid .avi, .3GP and MP4, but only if they are not above that resolution.
Import your existing movie into Windows Movie Maker (WMM). If you wish, edit it.
When you are ready to publish, WMM has pre-set compression settings for PDA.
Once published, copy the file to your PDA memory card using a card reader or RAM using ActiveSync.
Note that Windows Media 9 is buggy on VGD machines, and you may see your movie at 1/2 screen resolution you intend. There is no way to fix this. Instead, I recommend Beta Player as an alternative (and more powerful, if uglier) movie player.
It is free. Download the Latest Stable Player.
