On the top of the amplifier are 4 controls. The first one is labeled as "input sensitivity". That is the adjustment you need to make. It would need to be set at around mid way between minimum and maximum.

One way for you to set it perfectly for your speaker would be to have it set first at about 1/4th of maximum, and then with the volume of the head unit turned all the way up with some heavy bass playing start to turn the input sensitivity up very slowly until you hear a small amount of distortion or rattling from the sub woofer. At that point you would back it down just a touch until there is no distortion or rattling from the speaker. This would have your amplifier set at a point where it is not pushing the speaker too hard but you would be getting the most from it.

Remember that any time you hear distortion, you are either pushing the speaker too hard or the amp too hard. The distortion is caused by clipping, which is not a good thing. If there is no clipping from the amp, and no abnormal sound from the speaker, you have it set properly to get the most from both the amp and the speaker and you are then minimizing the chance of damaging either the amp or the speaker.

Very wise decision on your part to want to use your equipment properly and not expect more than it is actually capable of. Many people just push their equipment to the max and then complain about how it broke down on them. If you follow my instructions you should be able to keep your sub woofer and amplifier in good working condition for as long as possible. It is no guarantee that it will never break down on you, but you will at least give it it's best chance for longevity.

Best subs for the kenwood x812d

Try and match the rms output of the amp to the speaker , if the amp puts out 150 watts RMS make sure your speaker is at least 150 watts RMS.

I have two 12 inch 1200 watt kenwood excelons and i want to bridge them to the amp but i can barely turn it up with out blowing fuses

Please check the impedance of those subs. Are they 4 or 8 ohm speakers? Do they have dual voice coils? this app may not be capable of handling dual voice coil four ohms and you're trying to bring it down to a 2 ohm mono.

Kenwood excelon x1r red light blinks

You've got a faulty amp there. The blinking indicates that the output stage that drives the speakers are shorted, most likely due to running too low of an impedance off the amp and it shutting down continuously. The Output stage would need to be replaced by a tech as they are soldered onto the PCB and thermally coupled to the aluminum chassis internally.
Unfortunately there are no resets you can perform, or anything else besides component replacement on this amp.

Can i kook up 4ohm dvc sub to a kac-x810d amp?

No, the sub is dual 4ohms...meaning if you parallel the positive speaker terminals and the negative speaker terminals you will have a 2ohm sub. Conversely, if you series the pos and neg you will have an 8ohm sub. if you wirte to just one set of terminals on the sub you will have a 4ohm sub.

According to page 7 of the radio's manual, E-02 means the amp has failed and DC is being applied to the speakers. It also says "Turn the POWER switch "OFF" and release the protection."

May i suggest removing the equilizer unless you can adjust the settings for each amp seperatly. The amps themselves will allow you to add bass boost and treble boost. I think the problem your having is trying to run to much bass through your system causing it to distort badly.

My amp turn on but for some reason it dosent push out any power to the sub

Make sure there is not an input level control and that you have the right RCA connectors from the head unit connected. If you do see an input control first see from the head unit specs on what the max. output is comming out from the head units VIA the RCA Plugs. then see from the amp specs what the max. input should be inputted to the amp . If the output from the head unit is higher then the allowed input from the amp, your going to blow up the amp the first time you crank it. I have seen this happen many times. if you do not know how to balace the input of the amp please read the instructions on the amp or seek a professionals assistance.
