Faulty LCD Monitor ?

For the past 4 days my LCD monitor has been doing something odd.
When I wake the monitor in the morning the whole display is white fuzzy with some patches of blue and red. On one occasion I could just faintly see a corner of the desktop behind the white fuzzy stuff. This does not happen at anyother time. It only happens when I wake the monitor in the morning.
If I shut down the computer and wait a minute and turn the computer back on then the monitor behaves as it should. This morning it took about 5 shut downs before the monitor kicked on. The monitor is about three years old.I

Power supply in the monitor? Since I last posted the monitor now "whites" out all the time now. It happens when the monitor goes into sleep mode. I've learned to unplug the monitor from the computer. When I plug it back in it works, at least for awhile.

KDS 17" Model #700p. I normally have the monitor plugged into my Dell Xeon tower. I decided to plug it to my laptop. The monitor works fine on the laptop.

Perhaps it is a video card issue? I've never seen a bad video card behave this way.

If you can connect an alternative monitor from a friend the fault of the monitor can be once for all confirmed. Now start from the power section, check for the power supply failure to the mains section of the LCD. If power is faulty and the +Bvoltage is absent , check for the drives, however if the power supplu is OK then a possible fault in the main board is for sure, a failue of the processing IC . you will need help from the service dealer to check up this board to confirm. Monitor goes blank coming out of power save mode

I found this on the Internet...

"Press the "Input" button on your LCD monitor's front panel repeatedly at three- or four-second intervals until your monitor wakes up. If your monitor is set to an incorrect input mode, it won't receive a video signal. After you reset the monitor to the proper input mode, it will receive the signal and wake up automatically."

Dell SE198WFP 19" LCD won't come out of standby

I went into the BIOS (with F2 during restart) and changed a value -- IIRC it was called something like "power management scheme" -- from the default S3 to the other choice, S1. Now the old Dell XP Dimension 2350 will go into and out of Standby correctly and the new SE198WFP 19" LCD will too.

Iiyama Prolite 434S monitor is too dark

Dim or dark display can be caused by a faulty inverter board or faulty CCFL lamp. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp, the CCFL lamp is a miniture fluro tube and these dim with age.

Dell Monitor E207WFP Picture Not Centering

Try another monitor on the PC, see if that helps.
If it does, the monitor is faulty. Try resetting it to fctory settings.
If it isn't, it's probably your graphics adapter, or something in between.
First check the vga cable, then reinstall the graphics driver.

I hope this helps,

ViewSonic Monitor has trouble to wake up after been shut down?

Ok sounds to me like a power supply problem.. this a a fairly common symptom. I suggest that as a temporary fix you set the monitor to NOT turn the power off to the monitor in sleep mode if possible, in your power settings for the monitor.
