Re: I can't see the SD drive icon on my desktop.

No connection --- Simply connect USB cable between DVD Camcorder and PC. No power --- Simply turn on. Mode switch is not SD mode --- Simply set the mode switch to SD mode, not Movie or Photo mode.

Here are the steps to reformat your SD card with your HERO3 camera:
  1. Power ON your camera with the SD card inserted.
  2. Press the front (Power) button repeatedly until you see the wrench icon on the camera's screen.
  3. Press the top (Shutter) button one time.
  4. Press the Power button repeatedly until you see a trashcan icon.
  5. Press the Shutter button one time to select the trashcan icon.
  6. Press the Power button until "ALL/Format" is highlighted.
  7. Press the Shutter button one time to select "ALL/Format".
  8. Press the Power button until "Yes" is highlighted.
  9. Press the Shutter button one time to select "Yes". Your camera's LED and the trashcan icon will blink to indicate that your SD card is being reformatted.
Once they stop blinking, power OFF/ON your camera, and your file counter should show 00.
Important - Take a picture. This confirms that your SD card is successfully reformatted.

How I conected to the computer

you need either a USB cable to connect it. When you plug it in look on the desktop and a drive should appear similar to you hard drive. Your files are in there. you may be required to install the camera software either by cd or look up the cameras website. Usually the support and download sections. If it has an sd card you could also pull it out and put it directly into your of. But you have to have the sd slot on your pc to plug it into

Formatting sd memory card have a polaroid dvg-720E HD camcorder. Just got the sd card to try it out but dont know how to format it. Can u help please? Fiona

One easy way to do it is to take out your memory card and put it on a laptop or computer using the card reader and then format it. You go to your desktop when the card has been recognized then open my computer right click on the card icon then you click on format. Please tell me if this was helpful.

My polaroid dvf 130 camcorder won't connect to my computer.the software it came with says it doesnt need a driver since I have windows xp what should I do?

this is what i did, and it worked perfectly. go out and get a sd card * any gig u want* as soon as u put the sd card into the camera, FORMAT IT!!!!. do that before u do anything else. don't format it on ur pc or laptop. format it on the camera. if u do that it will work perfectly. i don't know why it wasn't in the manual to format sd card first. but if u try to take pics first, that will mess up the entire system and u will be assed out a sd card. it took me 3 sd cards to figure this out. the cards worked fine but not in the camera. then i formatted it on the camera first and it works fine. the other sd cards i use for other things, i won't discard them but they won't work in the cam. but remember again GET NEW SD CARD AND FORMAT THE CARD IN THE CAMERA FIRST.

I`ve put into a SD card 4Gb, but it don`t want to recognize it. I suppose the cam doesn`t support such card, but I need to confirm it

I fear the max SD card in this camera is in megs not gb's as they hardly ever notice a bigger card that 1 gig, I have same problem with my Sony 340 Hi8 camera, max size SD card is 2 g on that, also remember that some camera types wont except duel SD cards, sadly they nearly all are duel now, so I am as mad about this sort of thing as you are.

"please insert memory card in GZ-MG130U CAMACORDER

Hi there.
The hard drive will be full so you will need to transfer all your videos to your PC then format the hard drive in the camera's menu, make sure the SD card is removed before you format it.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

I have deleted all files, but camera says Hard Disk Full

On page 39 of the instruction manual it tells you how to format both the hard drive or the SD card. If you do not have a copy of the manual here is the link:

http://books.jvcservice.com/booklist.asp?Model=GZ-MG21

click the "instruction manual which is the fourth choice...

also be sure any medium (HD, SD) is UNLOCKED when doing this. If you do not weant to completely format see page 40.

And for your comfort, a Mac does not convert anything on the camera. But for the future, don't drag and drop into the trash bin, use delete on the camera. This is the same problem I've seen w/others but calling Apple-who blames it on the PC format-who blames it on the Mac-and both blame it on JVC, gets you nowhere. This is very typical when multiple companies are involved.

If you need further help you may contact me privately.

Can't see the DVD camcorder icon on my desktop.

No connection --- Simply connect USB cable between DVD Camcorder and PC. No power --- Simply turn on. Mode switch is not DVD mode --- Simply set the mode switch to Movie or Photo mode, not SD mode. The wrong UDF device driver, other than the one provided with the DVD Camcorder, was installed – Simply install the UDF driver that came with DVD Camcorder.
