Question about KitchenAid 24 in. KUDS01FLBL Built-in Dishwasher

Brown sticky spots

Hi,

After washing a load of dishes, we found the dishes were covered with numerous brown sticky spots as well as inside of the dishwasher. We ALWAYS rinse the dishes before we load them in to the machine, it is very unlikely it was from the food residue, plus the sticky stuff felt like lubricant iol and very very hard to be cleaned off. It never happened before and our KitchenAid dishwasher is only one year old. Please help!

Sounds like you have an oil leak from the motor/pump assembly. this should be covered under warranty by the mfg. have a technician replace the sump assembly.

There is a brown film all over inside of dishwasher. I have to put it on power scrub for my dishes to get clean.

I had a similar problem with my Whirlpool dishwaher, and it turned out that my water softener was not working. Once that was resolved, I found that I have to use a rinsing agent in the dishwaher to completely eliminate spots on the cleaned dishes.

The problem is hard water. Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com. They have a new product out that solves this problem once and for all. It filters the water entering your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that cause these spots. Very affordable and guaranteed to leave your dishes looking amazing every time.

Check and inspect spray arms to see if they are clean especially at the ends there is a small hole at each end which needs to be clear to turn spray arm. Addition, Make sure water is sufficient in basin after fill.Well water could clock fill valve. Consider gel instead of powder if water is hard.Thank you

i believe this to be a sediment issue. detergent would turn the dishwasher black if it were left in there. however i would suggest using powder
