If your sponge has any metal in it, that would be the cause of the sparking. The only other thing that could cause sparks is grease built up behind the wave guide cover or the magnetron is going bad.

Try opening your microwave and look around for sensors.

The area will first have to be sanded smooth and cleaned and dried thoroughly.

If the metal is cracked or split, you can use a small amount of steel-based epoxy such as JB-WELD to patch the crack or hole.

Once that dries thoroughly, you can sand it very smooth.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

I would not recommend it, removal will insure long life.

Either the coupler is cracked, the motor is defective, or the turntable support ("rotating ring asm") is worn or defective.

Are you talking about the black round pan? I don't think I have any other parts in my Advantium for speed cooking or convection. I occasionally just use an oven safe dinner plate. Sorry I can't help with replacement parts.

check for black spot on support for turn table and floor of unit, sand them back to the metal serface and paint if cavity is not stainless steel, if turn table is not turning replace the motor as this could cause this issue as well.

It sounds like the 'stirrer' which is a metal fan-like device with a plastic bearing that is mounted in the wave guide above the cavity. Pull the plug, then the case. Remove the waveguide above the cavity which should expose the stirrer. Spin it and check for any up and down motion--straighten the axle part so that it turns true. The blower system turns the stirrer--no extra motor. If this part was bent, someone may have handled it roughly. Reassemble the waveguide and test without the case on, but a cup of water in the cavity.

My Advantium was arching at the turntable. Replaced the turntable roller assembely (that hold the metal or glass plate) and the arching went away.

They are indeed the same bulb, a 10W halogen. Care must be taken not to touch the lamp, as the oils from the skin will shorten its life. In many recent models, the oven must be removed from the wall (a two-person job due to safety concerns) and the cover must be removed.
