Question about Masterbuilt 20070106 Electric Smoker

1 Answer

While using my Masterbuilt smoker (Model 20070106) the temperature began to gradually decrease and now it will not heat at all. I'm sure the heating element needs to be replaced but I am having difficulty finding parts. I don't want to buy a new smoker as this one is inly 3 years old.

SgtDave - Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. There have been a bunch of people seeking either the burner element and/or the electronic controls. The burner element is available form Appliance Factory Parts, but only with the smoker box. At one time is was sold separately, but now, the element by itself is no longer available. Even Masterbuilt no longer sells just the heating element. In part, if you check your Owner's Manual or the Manufacturer's Data Plate on the smoker, take note of the Country of Origin, you'll understand why.

Wish I could have been of more help to you.

I need an element for Mod: 20070106 Ser.# GA040925

You can purchase a new heating element part # 990050051 either from Masterbuilt or from Factory Appliance Parts http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/gasgrillparts/brands/masterbuilt/
If they are still available. All of Masterbuilt's electric smokers have been plagued with electrical problems.. It's either the element or the electronic controller on the top of the smoker, that constantly fail.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Can I get replacement for the heating element model 200700106 serial GA040909

The element kit is Part # 9907079003. So first try Masterbuilt 1.800.489.1581, as they use this same element in a couple of different models. My primary source for grill & smoker parts, Appliance Factory Parts, says it's no longer available. So Masterbuilt may be your only source. But, to be very candid, that's iffy, at best. Masterbuilt is not known for having critical parts for their smokers.

I hope this wa of some help to you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

What kind of charcol do we use for this item

Brandi, Electric Smokers do not use charcoal at all. Only wood chips. The electric heating element produces the heat. Smoking is a low temperature slow process. When mastered it can produce some fantastic food.
In case you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it that you can download and print for future reference. In addition to the assembly instructions, it will walk you the process of curing the new smoker and how to smoke different foods.

Exactly how does the charcol come into play not exactly sure where to place it.

Debbie, unless you listed the wrong model number for your Masterbuilt Electric Smoker ... Electric Smokers don't use charcoal at all. They use wood chips, that are placed on the wood chip tray, just above the burner. The smoldering wood chips generate the smoke.

In case you've misplaced your Owners Manual. Here's a link to it that you can download and print for future reference. http://www.masterbuilt.com/pdf/manuals/07092010%2020070910%20Manual.pdf

Hope this helps you to enjoy your smoker.

I have a masterbuilt 20070106 and it is flashing a code EAAF. What does that mean?

Internal temperature must be above 40 F. Use a hair dryer on the internal thermostat and it will start right up.
