How old is your camera? Has it been exposed to salty air/ any moisture. if so that is the problem. if not older camers will need batteries like the energizer lithiums to work. They are very strong batteries. any digital will need specialty batteries to perform for more than a few shots.

Kodak c340 won't turn on

Hello Carol, Are these batteries new and name brand ? It sure sounds like low battery power, Those cheap batteries found in some stores do not have the energy to boot a camera even when new out of the package. The camera has a very high demand to start up. I own several cameras that will not turn on with brand new cheap batteries.
Best Regards, Russell

I put in a freshly charged battery and go shoot a youth football game. After a series of shots, my battery is "dead". I turn the camera off and then back on and can get a few more shots before it goes dead...

How about cleaning the battery contacts in the camera with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol? It also wouldn't hurt to visit the support section of the Nikon website to see if they've posted any firmware updates.

Doesn't hold power for long!

You may have water damage that has shorted the electronics in your camera. Other than that seeing the batteries are going dead so fast you have a dead short. Stop using the camera and have it repaired. You are only causing further damage by using it.

Kodak Z1085 IS - drains battery even when camera is not on

the camera takes 1.5v to operate it
anything less the camera will shut down
recharge batteries are only 1.4v so at full
recharge it won't last long
The best batteries are litheum that have the right
volts and capacity to keep the camera going.
try turning or the camera stablizer setting...
might save your battery power.

Dead batteries when fully charged

Does it work with "no batteries" - only plugged into power source? check your usb cable by trying to power up something else.

Battery is fully charged but camera will not power up

Check you manual .. is there a 'back up' battery (coin cell ??) .. if not then the battery is dead (rechargeable batteries do not last for ever) .. try a brand new battery
