You should bring the unit into a dell authorized service center.

check the ABL line starting at the flyback pin. Check if loss contact, resistors are open, defective diode then replace it. If it doesnt solve, try to replace ceramic capacitor at crt board

When you push the power button on the monitor the green light comes on for a few seconds then goes to yellow. Any ideas? It is a Dell e773c connected to a HP Pavillon 700

Hi,

Please check the vga connection cable. It may not connected to the computer. If you have dual monitor support (2 monitor connection on the PC) try other vga port.

My Dell E773c Monitor's image is like a "hyperbola" wider at the top and bottom and narrower in the middle. The Horizontal adjustments do not do anything to correct the problem, Help!!!!

Try to do a factory reset (look up "recall" in the manual, or here: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/e773c/EN/ug/setup.htm).
If this does not help, you need to adjust the geometry settings (H/V position, H/V size, rotation, trapezoid, parallelogram, pincushion and pin balance) using the monitor's settings menu. Expect a long afternoon of fiddling around until you get a satisfactory result. A test picture for geometry settings could be of help.

Make sure your computers video setting does not exceed the monitors specification of 1152 x 864 @ 75 Hz.

There is usually an identical resistor somewhere else on the circuit board, so if you cannot read the colors of the burnt one, you can read the colors from an identical resistor on the same board. If you just replace the resistor, it will probably just burn out again or damage another component, you have to find the cause of the resistor burning out, most likely an electrolytic capacitor failing. Look for bloated or seeping capacitors and replace those as well. Also look for broken or burnt toroid coils.

if its a 4 band resistor, use the following calculator...

if the resistor is a 5 band, use the following link....

hope this helps!

Dell monitor E773C 17"

It sounds like this needs component-level troubleshooting, probably in the signal section. It might also be loose connections or residue of some kind in one of the switches or on the switch board.
