Your thermostat may have a "learn" feature that learns how long it takes to get to your target temperature by the time you set (instead of start at the time you set). To get to the target temp in time, it has to start early. There is no way to turn it off on some units, other units may have an on/off feature for "anticpate", "target", or "learn".
Just bump back the time by 30 to 45 minutes.
I dont think you will be able to start your washing machine this way during the night. Electronically controlled machines will need you to press the start button again when the power is re-applied. They dont 'remember' where the program left off unlike the old mechanical type of programmer.
