WASHER WONT START

Maytag LAT2500AAE:
Washer worked fine on last load.
On next load would not do anything.
Power to washer is fine.
Does not start filling tub.
If I put it on spin it will not work either.
It is acting like no power is getting to machine.
There doesn't appear to be a main fuse visable.

Hi JMIV,

since you can test continuity and there is no continuity at the plug when you tested it, try to open the upper console where the switches are mounted, you may find the electrical diagram of your unit and be able to trace why there is no continuity between the terminals of the plug.

make sure that when you test the plug, you have set it as if it is running normally,

close the lid, pull the knob if it is a mechanical timer then test the continuity,

from your diagram, i hope you can trace your wires.

i hope i was able to help you,

tnx 4 using fixya,

drcool

It could be that if a fuse or fusiable link has blown that a short circuit has occcured either in the washer motor or the control circuit board, bypass the board if possiable and power up the motor, then you will have but 2 issues left the control timer switch and the main circuit board.

The fuse is usually mounted on the control board when power connection comes to the board.

Try this start with the tub and basket, make sure there is not anything caught in between preventing it from spinning. Also check whether the belt is properly placed . Next would be heavy duty stuff like the thrust bearing and brake. The brake may not be releasing. You can check this by turning the pulley counter clockwise slowly and seeing if the transmission spins. If not the thrust bearing and brake may be bad........

Try to fill the washer with water manually then run the spinner, if it still does not work then you need to ask a technician to service physically the device because there might be parts needed to be replaced already.

HI,

f your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:

No power
Lid switch
No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?

Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.

Frigidaire Affinity Front-loading washer wont do anything

Check the wall socket with another electric gadget. Check your washer plug fuse. Finally open up the rear (after taking the washer power cord off the wall of course!) and disconnect and reconnect all wires and connectors one by one. Possible it could just be a loose connection somewhere. Sometimes happens due to vibration.

Click so pl if helped.

I have a Maytag LAT2500AAE top load washer. The

check the balance ring on the tub just below the tub cover and tub cover gasket which can be done from the top of the machine by removing the top cover, while doing this pull and push tub from side to side and see if it moves easier in certain directions, if it does you may have a tub spring broken on the tub leading to an un balance condition cause the springs stabilize the tub like a shock absorber on an auto, if this is it then you need to access the lower unit area by removing the front cover of the unit there are screws at the toe kick panel to remove this panel

How do I change the washer belt on a Maytag Washer #LAT2500AAE

I figured out that the belt went on the bottom of the dryer. It was actually very easy to fix once I realized where the belt went. I made the mistake of opening the front cover of the washer first, which is why I did not see where to put the belt. Apparently, if the washer is not level (since I had too much for a load and it caused the washer to pull out from the wall), the belt shook itself loose.

Front load washer doesn't spin

My Maytag® Neptune® washer filled with water, but it won't spin or drain-what now?

Start by making sure the machine is plugged into a live (working) electrical outlet. Then check the appropriate circuit breaker and reset it if necessary (or check the fuse if you have a fuse box).

Next, inspect the drain hoses and remove any kinks. Take a look at the drain, too - if it's clogged, call your usual drain service person.

Then close the washer door and firmly press the START/STOP button. In a few moments, after the door locks, the washer should begin to spin. (For your safety, the washer will not tumble or spin unless the door is closed and locked.)

If this doesn't work, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-688-9900 for toll-free assistance and service scheduling if necessary.
