Question about Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Acer monitor AL1916W

My monitor, like others on this website, says "input device not supported" .
However, unlike some of the others, my computer won't even fire up.
I turn my computer on, it starts to go through the windows XP window (with the blue dots go across the screen) and then just freezes up before it gets loaded. My copmuter man put a new video card on my computer thinking that was the problem. He turned the computer on and as it was running throufgh windows xp (with the blue dots going across the screen) it would automically shut down and reboot. It kept rebooting itself for at least 25 times befoore windows and the computer kicked in. I took it home and turned it on and all it did was freeze up when windows xp (with the blue dots running) tried to load. So I brought it back to my computer man and hooked everything up (using his monitor) and it fired right up without hesitation. So I took it back home, hooked everything up (including my 19" acer) and once again I got input device not supported and it froze up. We haven't been able to figure out if its a video problem, monitor glitch or hardware problem, but this computer will sometimes run, but most of the time it just freezes up while trying to load windows xp. ANY SUGGESTIONS other than to trash the system?

Update your video car drivers and then look for the specific drivers of your monitor, it happened to me once using windows 7 i just installed the monitor's driver from the manufacturers website. go to acer website and support download page and search for your model, donwload and install and hope that solves your problem.

You get the 'not supported' due to the video resoltion from your PC is higher than what the monitor can support.
AL1916W has 1440 x 900 Native Resolution

Input not supported is floating round my monitor screen how do i get rid of it

You probably need to change the resolution setting in your computer display settings to a setting that is supported by the monitor.
Your resolution setting right now is probably too high to be recognized by the monitor.
1440x900 should be the resolution setting for an AL1916w if your video card will allow that setting

What resolution are you trying to run? The native resolution for your monitor is 1440 x 900, setting to that should fix your issue

Input not supported

IT sounds like the monitor got fried.. sometimes if the monitor is in the on position as the power comes back, the monitor gets an unexpected sure which can sometime damage the circuitry. You may be out of luck. You're only other option is to try using the monitor on another computer to see if it's just a weird connection issue.

Input not supported

You may have a video resolution selected on your computer that the screen doesn't support.

The reason you see the the initial startup message is because that is loaded from the bios, prior to the settings for the graphic card output being loaded.

Try booting the computer in safe mode and adjusting the display resolution.

Input not supported

This is a communication issue starting with your docking station. Sometimes updated drivers are neede to insure that a device works with all devices between your pc and your laptop. Check on Dells website to see if there is an updated driver. In additon you may want to run the cd that came with your monitor, they are always shipped with a cd with drivers on them!
