Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
Up until yesterday my computer was working correctly - Acer Inspire with MS bundled. The screen froze and I shut the system down. Try to open up, all I get is Cannot find operating system. Have looked through the BIOS [nothing to change there]. Any idea what it could be? If MS is corrupt would they download a new system for me with my license number on a separate computer as I can't open mine at all.
Unfortunatley No they wont give you a new copy of the software.
Did you get a windows cd/dvd or any restore discs with the system?
Does it have a windows product key on the bottom?
If it has the product key for Vista on the bottom then you can re-install vista if you can get a cd.
Borrowing a cd is not illegal as you already have a license for Windows. So if you dont have the cd just try and borrow one from a friend. Install windows and if it gives you the option to repair the system then go ahead and do that. if it doesnt then yo might need to do a full install.
Let me know if you have or can get the cd, if you run into any issues also let me know and I will help you work through any problems
