Need to reboot computer,windows98,invalid disk error

You have to go into your BIOS and select booting from Disk not hard drive when i say disk i mean either the cdrom or dvd disk players attached to your motherboard. also you can get a boot disk to try that at the link below.

Windows system always restart

Computer often restarts, can not enter windows.
Firstly check your ram.
If you can, do a test with the new ram it's better.
if not, make sure your use ram is fully functional.

Turn on your computer, if the problem is still the same.
Do a test on your power supply. make sure the power supply to do the test is 100% work or use the new.

Turn on your computer again, if the problem still occurs. unplug all cables connected to hard disks, cd / dvd rom, floppy and remove all the pci cards. now leave the connection to the power supply to the motherboard and the other connecting wayer suiz on / off (all the connections on the panel) if you are using a display card, left the display card in the slot and then turn on your computer.

Now look at the results. if still the same. This means you need to do tests on your processor and motherboard. but if your computer does not restart again stable, this means, most likely the problem comes from the hard disk.

Ok. now try to connect to your hard disk. problem occurs frequently restart
again right?

If so, you need to perform tests on your hard disk.
how to perform the test, if you have important data in the hard disk. I suggest you first Copy your data to another computer first. by connecting the hard disk into the computer that you want to use to make copies (if the type of hard disk pata / ideas, set the jumper to slave and connect to any idea that the cable has not been used in the computer you use, if no the cable idea, you can use a cable that is used for cd / dvd ram for a while) if your SATA hard disk, no need to set jumpers, just connect the sata cable and then just copy the data may be at work to do.

After completion of all copied data. The cover page, then klik2x on my computer icon. observe the hard disk drive for. (For example, now for the hard disk drive is e. Right-click on the drive and click format. If the page to format mungul. Tick box format for quick and clear the volume level and then click Start.

after the format, remove the hard disk and set the jumper to the original and put it on your computer. then for the window installation process you will be done as usual.
** (If your problem still occurs. My suggestion is that you must use a new hard disk or a 100% hard work and re-do the installation window, because the hard disk is damaged or has a bad sector will cause your system files are always auto restart due -file to boot normally have been damaged or lost due to bad sectors.) **

good luck ...
Contact me for further problems

Regards
multilinkent
Thank fixya

To install a new hard disk you do not need any unlocking code...If it has a BIOS password..just remove the BIOS battery for a few seconds and all passwords will be erased and the BIOs will get to the original factory settings and the manufacturing date ..
Just plug the new hdd and install the windows again ..

How do you transfer hard drive from old comp. to new?

For just the data, get an ide to usb converter and connect it to the new computer, and just drag and drop.
You cant move an entire hard drive to a new computer because of driver issues, but you can use windows built in files and settings transfer utility.

Have an HP pavillion A1540n. after power up, get screen with "Hard disk failure imminent' "Backup files. replace Hard drive." I'm not able to get out of this screen unless I power down the computer. I have...

Sometimes it is easier to install a new hard disk and reinstall Windows.
Then either connect the old hard drive as a slave drive (don't forget to set the jumper on this drive as a slave). The other way is to connect the old hard drive to a USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. this computer will see it as an external hard drive (provided the hard drive is still functioning).
Either way you can download and backup your files.

When i try to turn my computer on it wont even boot up it has a black screen that says a disk read error occurred press ctrl alt del to restart. then nothing happens. this computer has my life on it...

http://www.salvagedata.com/disk-error-failure/

please read that article

There is a way I have done in the past and its remove the old drive put a new one in install new operating system. and see if I can manage to get my info off the old drive once the new drive is completly installed.

and if that dosent work I put the old drive on Ice, well a ziplock bag then into the freezer. oddly enough its saved me more time then not. I manage to get all my data off the hard drive and then finally format the old drive then it works again most of the time.

im not too sure what to suggest I wouldnt do what I do. cause its not a actual method of troubleshooting this issue.

read the article and see what you think.

if you dont want to loose any info seriously pick up a 1 gig or 2gig hard drive from a computer shop for 5 bucks install the os and manage to get your data off. well whatever size you would figure you would need also ebay is a good chance too for cheaper hard drives.
