Hello Skyhalliday,

I understand that you are having a problem with you central heat/air. You do not have a thermostat installed and have the red and yellow crossed in order to make the unit run.

The wires you have crossed are not to the heat if they are to the common color code. Here is the color code for HVAC units:
Thermostat / Wire / what is controlled
W / White / Heat gas valve or heat elements
Rc(Rh) / Red / 24 volts transformer
G / Green / Fan
Y / Yellow / Air Conditioner Outside unit
C / Blue or Black / Common (energizes thermostats that do not have batteries)

You may not have the proper wires shorted in order to have the burners engage.

I had a Honeywell F4- 0019 motorised two port valve on my central heating that has failed. I have replaced it with a Honeywell valve from Thompsons Plumbase, but on fitting noticed the new valve has six...

I'm doing a lot of guessing here for lack of information. You have a residential boiler and hydronic heating system that is zoned around your home and each zone has an independent thermostat?
Again, I need to guess. The old valve was spring return with yellow, blue and red wires? If all is true so far, then I think you had a single end switch with one COMMON - one NORMALLY OPEN and one NORMALLY CLOSED contact. 6 wires would make up 2 end switches. Brown is a normal color for one lead of an end switch. If this is all true, your new switches are probably NORMALLY OPEN and you only need 1. If this did not help you, give me a better description of old and new and I will get this correctly answered for you.

Siemens 2PZV-V22 control valve keeps cliking - obviously not actuatingr properly is valve or motor?

This is an old post but if like me your suffering this problem you may find you have a faulty microswitch inside the unit. There are two side by side mounted on a small pcb. For me the one nearest the outside of the unit was stuck down.

Hope this helps

The boiler does not fire when hot water is selected although the red light is on. However the boiler fires ok when central heating is switched on and this does then heat the water. Is the problem in the...

Hi. and you are correct, if the boiler fires when the controller is set for central heating to come on, but does not fire when calling for hot water, the controller is either faulty, or not programmed properly. This is what tells the boiler to do on command, so, this is all that it could be.If you no anything about this controller as far as how it is set up, is it a programmable one, voltage on it, does it have wiring terminals on it that are labeled and can you get to them? If you can, and the wires are labeled, you can jumper them out to see if you can bypass the circuitry and get it to fire up on a call for hot water. This is the way to test it, very easy. You have to look at the wiring schematics to find the wires that are 1-hot and 2- hot water control. Jump across the 2 wires and if it fires, the controller is faulty. Careful if this is a high voltage controller as 120/208/230 volt. Check this out first. It can still be done, you just have to be careful not to ground yourself out. It maybe 24 volts. If it is higher voltage, you can kill power and get a insulated lead/jumper wire with clips on each end. Clip them to the terminals you want to jump out and turn on power. This way you are not touching anything. Please let me know the outcome on this and please when rating me as being helpful to you, be kind. I thank you. I will be here if you have more questions or need my help.
Sincerely,

My heat unit will not blow hot air unless we go outside and hit a button on the back bottom of the unit. Once we do that it will blow hot air for that cycle. when it is time for it to come on it is cold...

If it does not have a furnace or heating elements for heating, then it is a heat pump, which is rare for a central AC system, but makes sense of the fact that it blows warm air when you reset the pressure switch, which may indicates freon pressure charge problem if your AC system has a reverse valve and uses freon to for heating (heat Pump).

Do you get heating when outside unit runs? if you do, check freon pressure levels and top up to required pressures. The button you depress is a pressure reset switch ... that is if your AC system is a heat pump ... which, as pointed above, it is not common for central ACs.

Ariston micro genus combi boiler central heating works okay but domestic hotwater fails to rise but burners seem to be lit and the boiler doesnt appear to cycle dhw temp gets to about 30 degrees instead of...

having found a circuit diagram, realised that the divertor valve was electrically operated.i unplugged this then unclipped the motor from the valve body, the diverter valve is spring loaded and once i'd removed the motor the spring raised the valve to divert water through the dhw heat exchanger, giving us hot water but no heating, if i refit the motor the problem comes back heating no dhw.ordered new motorised valve assembly £30 next day order .
this was a simple fix without having to drain the system down.
