Dear hm1234d
Could you please supply me with some more info. Is it a Standard TV, Plasma, etc.? Please explain the symptom to me in more detail and also the age of the set. Temperature plays an important role yes, but might be something else. Regards, JUS004

How do I fix a power problem with an Insignia Plasma TV Model NS51P680A12?

Sounds like something heating up - get a freeze can and spray the various boards one by one until the tv comes back on then you will know which one it is - probably the y-sus board or psu board!

Swollen caps on which board - that will more than likely be the problem board and more than the caps will be damaged by the heat in Plasmas - I leave the back off my plasma to stop the heat buildup!

Hdmi cable wont work

It could just be the cable.. try a different cable or plug the cable into something else and make sure it is working properly.

47" plasma 1080p ... screen went black , sound

Plasma TV's have a shelf life. By that I mean the screen is only good for so many hours depending on the model. Most likely, you have burnt out the screen and the set will need to be replaced. The good news is, plasma TV's used to be better than LCD but that is no longer the case. You can get a very high quality LCD TV for a very low price now. Also they use a fraction of the power and don't generate all of the heat of a plasma.I'm sure this is not what you wanted to hear but the reality is that ALL plasma TV's do this eventually, and it is something that most salesmen back in the day didn't bother to tell customers. If you have an extended warranty, you may be able to get it replaced.

Since we've owned our Samsung PN58A550 Plasma (less than 2 years) it has always put out excessive heat. So much that we can only watch it for 2 hours without the room becoming unbearably hot, and that is...

This is very normal. There is a joke out that Plasma screens are an excellent source of heat in the winter. Yes this is the very reason they started making LCD screens they dont heat up like plasma screens. Keep in mind your plasma screen has a gas in it that is ignited or lit by very high voltage. The only thing to do would be to sale theTV and replace it with the same size LCD screen TV. If you need to know the diffrence from a plasma screen and a LCD. The Plasma TV has a hard glass surface when you touch it. An LCD has a soft plastic screen like the one on your laptop computer. Never Touch a Plasma TV when its on.

Hi yes i had the same problem and its basically because the tv needs a software upgrade. I contacted argos and they sent an engineer to sort it and he plugged something into the back of the tv to upgrade it. all in all it took 5 mins to do and not had a problem since.

Philips 42PF9956/37 Plasma TV - Looking for y sustain board

it isnt the Y-SUS board, it is the Power supply, iv fixed this exact problem twice in the last month, try turning the tv on, and when it turns green, unplug it real fast, while light is still green, after 15 seconds plug it back in, then hit the power button, if it dont come on, hit the power button again, this time, as soon as it turns off, hit the power button again to turn back on, sometimes you can trick the tv and it will turn on, at least i was able to do it, and once it comes on, it should work fine, untill you turn it off again.

This sounds like a bad cap in the power supply. The component is only starting to fail under load and heat. I'll look up your specific model and see if there have been any reports of this type of problem.
