Canon LBP 5100 printer around a year old. Load paper light blinks constantly even though the paper tray is full. The printer was working properly a few seconds ago and suddenly this happens. Turning the printer off and on and pulling out and putting the tray back does not help. Is sending it for repair the only solution left?

Where you select the paper size, select 'Free Size' not A4, this will solve the problem.

Same here, I'm sure it's a ploy from Canon that after 3 or 4 months, it's supposed to stop working so they can charge you to fix it.

Try just feeding a sheet through the manual feed. I have found this then clears the problem.

Not sure but there is usually a lever or pin that sits near the bottom of the paper tray to let the machine know that there is or isn't paper in the tray. It may have broken off or become dislodged?

there is a small lever that lifts up when paper is inserted; this closes a switch; look for it in the paper try compartment.

My canon MP560 thinks that there is no paper loaded when I have the tray full. How do I get it to believe that there is paper?

Theres a cassette underneath and a sheet feed from the back. Make sure you have paper in the cassette tray, when it says cassette tray empty.

Canon ip4300 printer says paper output tray is closed. wont prin

Its a defective printer you have that cant get out of paper output tray is close or that the paper output tray is not properly placed into the printer.

Try to reseat the output tray and let me know. If it does not work, you may need to send printer to repairs.

I have a canon pixma mp780 all in one printer. It keeps saying add paper but the paper tray is full.

Check the feed switch, you can put paper in the bottom tray or the top feeder and you press the feed switch to change from one to the other, when the rollers are dirty and paper doesn't pick up you also get that error.

Supply rec paper tray - what does this mean when the tray is loaded?

OK, I was having a similar problem: Tray full of paper and tray adjusted properly.

Whatever I tried, the printer kept saying load paper.

I went to print menu>properties button (windows XP this is next to the printer name)>paper source tab.

It tuned out that the paper source had been changed from cassette to multi-purpose tray.

Change it back to cassette and you should be golden.

Printer won't pull paper into printer

How long have you owned the printer. How long have you had this problem? Is the paper old? Sometimes storage of the paper causes humidity and can cause this problem. You might want to try newer paper or clean the rollers with some alcohol on a rag/cloth. If you need any other assistance let me know. If you have a moment to accept and rate my solution I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Lee

that may be due to a printer settings issue, where it's looking perhaps at another tray for that paper?
