Scroll down to Jim's post with instructions on how to enter the auto calibration function in the hidden service menu.

Note that for the DAV-S300, in order to access the service menu, you don't use the remote - press and hold down MUTING and RETURN on the player while turning the volume knob clockwise.

I needle comes unthreaded whenever we try to sew. We've both tried numerous times and it doesn't make a sitch. The bobbin seems to be done correctly b/c the bottom thread comes up with no problem....

first let's deal with the needle becoming unthreaded, Keeping the needle threaded is easy, always keep thread tails of 3 to 6 inches on the top thread & bobbin at all times, & make sure the thread tail are pulled behind the needle before you start to sew,, this will ensure that the thread will not come out of the needle when you start to sew.

you mention the fabric is thin,, do you have a needle that's right for the fabric your sewing?
thin fabric needs a different needle than blue jeans fabric, check your top tension & see what the setting is on, usually 3 to 5 is good.

when the needle & thread are right for the fabric then the sewing is good.

also clean under the needle plate & bobbin area for loose threads or lint

also it's a possibility that the machine could be out of time & would need to be serviced by a sewing machine repair shop-as they have the tools for the job

Why won't the bobbin thread pick up?

have you tried changing the needle? if it's a new needle is it inserted correctly---flat side to the back of the machine---needle push up in inside the needle holder
have you tried cleaning under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or loose threads?
have you checked the bobbin to make sure it's not warped
have you checked the bobbin is inserted correctly?

if you've already tried these things then the last thing that possible is the machine is out of time & needs to be serviced by a repair shop that have the correct tool to time it

We have a new pink steamglide iron Model No18160. The sole has a stain which I cannot clean. The instructions recommend using vinagar which I tried and which did not help. Can you help advice?

Hi there,

There are many products on the market which can be used to clean stubborn stains from the iron sole.

However, for realy stubborn problems I would use very fine sandpaper with a grit of aproximately 1200.

With a fair amount of rubbing or sanding it should be possible to remove any stain or mark from the bottom of the iron & provided you use a very fine sandpaper it wont leave any scratches.

Best wishes,
Graeme.

Hi i am tejal shah in mumbai my dvd players is lg lpc d-1000 is not work is problem is start c d mode and extra wisel shooooooooooo pls sole my problem

Hi,
I hope I can help you, however, I don't know what resources are available to you in Mumbai.
1st DVDs, as a rule, are much more sensitive to particles of dirt on the surface of the DVD than
on the surface of a CD. A simple particle of dirt will stop the DVD from playing. The solution is to clean the surface with a soft damp paper towel, or soft cloth moistened only with water. Use a rotating motion around the surface of the CD.

2nd Dust can get into the optical lens of the DVD player's Laser beam. That dust will stop the DVD player's laser from properly reading the surface of the disk. DO NOT TOUCH THE DVD PLAYER LASER LENS WITH YOU HANDS OR ANY DEVICE DIRECTLY.
There are special purpose DVDs that are used for lens cleaning . I have done a search of eBay sites in India. Here is the link to my search posted here, below.

There is a possiblity that the motor that rotates the DVD inside the DVD player has failed.
Here is a link to replace the DVD player in India.

I hope this information has been a help to you.

My bobbins sometimes don't wind right. The thread gets all tangled at the bottom of the bobbin instead of winding evenly. I'm sure it's user error because sometimes it works. Hoping you can help me figure...

when the thread is on the spool pin
1.guide the thread around the bobbin winder thread guide
2.insert the thread through the hole on the bobbin, threading from the inside to the outside
put the the bobbin spindle
3.push the bobbin winder spindle to the right (if you have a electronic machine the LED display
will show SP)
4.depress the foot control, when the bobbin is fully wound, stop it, & push the bobbin spindle to the left, cut the thread & remove it from the spindle

HP Pavilion ZE4900 won't boot up. Here is all the details to the problem: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=324412&st=0&gopid=1801309&#entry1801309

Hi. If i got it correctly the cd that you mentioned on the thread is the recovery disk of your laptop? Have you tried booting up the computer from your CD ROM. Instead pressing "R" keep tapping F12 key the moment you press the power button. if you will prompted for a boot device, select your CD/DVD ROM as boot device. Make sure that the CD is inside the CDROM drive when you do this. This steps will prompt you to windows installation. If possible also, could you provide me the complete error message that you are getting.

All the best!

Vcr works but dvd disc of go video solely say loading

There are a few different things that you can try. First make sure that your discs are clean before you put them in the player. Even if the disc is new I would recommend cleaning the disc off. The second thing that you can try is a DVD player reset. You can do this by unplugging the player for about 5-10 minutes. Then plug it back in and try the disc. If that does not help I would try a DVD head cleaner in the player. If all of these things do not work, it is most likely an issue with the player.

the laser inside may be having the problem or the optical sensor inside the player is not proper.....

if after all the above said procedures fail kindly contact ur manufacturer.

thank you
