Since you didn't specify the model of your phone, pick the model from the list beginning at

to get the manual.

How to extend ring time before answer machine cuts inExtend ring time

you're gonna need to go to your menu options to change the number of rings. Google your model and then look under manual. Perhaps this is it: http://www.home-phones.co.uk/assets/uploaded/documents/384_BT_Synergy_5500_userguide.pdf

Instead of going to my message the phone rings out and and goes to voice saying sorry we can not take your message please try again later

It may be similar to the problem I had with the wireless home phone with answering machine not taking messages when had the answering machine set to 12 rings before answering. Found the sim card (my wireless system) auto response would answer first. Fixed it by reducing time to 6 rings and answering machine now comes on first. This might resolve it for you.

Answer phone cutting in too soon, would like phone to ring for 10 rings before answer phone.

Need make and model number to really help you. Most answering machines simply can't be set for such a high number of rings.

IT WILL RING BUT GOES TO ANSWERING MACHINE DOES NOT RECEIVE FAX

>first run fax test, press set up go to tools menu then select run fax test, all entries should be pass
>then check your connections, do you have one line or number for your fax and phone?or a separate line or another number for fax and another number for phone?
>let me assume you only have one number for fax and phone..
>check connections, this should be downstream connection, the fax machine using the black phone cord provided by hp should be connected directly to the phone jack using line 1 at the back of the fax and the answering machine or the telephone should be connected to ext 2 or line 2 at the back of the fax...there should be no other devices phone or answering machine connected directly to the phone jack.
>next set rings to answer on the fax machine higher than the answering machine...if your rings to answer on answering machine is 4 rings, set the fax to 6 rings...if it is a voice call the answering machine will pick it up at 4 rings then if it detects that it it a fax tone then it will transfer the call to fax.
>also check if auto answer is on in your fax
>you can check auto answer and rings to answer by pressing set up or menu button on your machine look for it in basic fax settings or advance settings
>also check if your voice prompt for your answering machine is not too short there should be like at least 5 seconds after cutting your message to allow the machine to transfer the call to the fax if it is a fax tone.

Answering Machine on the dect 225

The dect 225 is set to toll saver by default (press the ring button (-) and read the display). It answers on 2 rings if you have messages and 4 rings if you don't.

If you hold down that button for 2 seconds, you can use the up/down keys to adjust it for 2-7 rings.

Here's a manual if you don't have one. Check out page 30.

Hangs up after 2 seconds into recording message

SETTING THE RINGS TO ANSWER
This setting allows you to select the number of rings before the answering system answers a call.

At idle status, hold down the volume "UP" button over two seconds to enter the ring times setting of answering. The answering system announces, "ring time two" (the default is 2).

To change the rings to answer, press and release the "PREVIOUS" button (<<) or the "NEXT" button (>>) and the answering system announces a number such as "2, 1, toll save, 9...” OR "2, 3, 4...", if you select the toll save and the digit LED light shows a “γ”, the answering system announces “toll save”.

After choosing a number, press the “PLAY/STOP” button one time to store the rings to answer, and the answering system confirms the setting and returns to the idle status.

NOTE: when the machine fails to operate properly, just unplug the power for 10 seconds, and redo the settings.

ENZER ANSWERING MACHINE

Turn machine over, a slide marked with 2R,4R, and TS can be slid even with 2R or 4R to answer after the 2nd or 4th ring. At TS, the machine is in Toll Save Mode. If there are messages, the machine will answer on the second ring. If not, it will answer on the 4th ring. You can hang up on the 3rd ring if on long distance to save Toll Charges.
