Question about Insignia Bluetooth Wireless Behind-the-Head Headphones - Black

6 Answers

Won't charge or turn on.

I've had these earphones for a while now, and they've worked great the whole time. I've taken good care of them, and they are practically like new. But from one moment to the next, they won't turn on. When I plug it in to the charger, the insignia logo flashes red once and goes dark. Anything I can do?

This is exactly my problem. I have opened mine in order to check if it could be a broken or loose wire, but no success.

If someone has a solution, please write me too:

I wrote to Insignia and they recommended the following procedure, which worked for me:

1- Plug the charger into a power outlet
2- Press the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons at the same time for resetting the device.

My earphones are working well now.

This worked for my headphones, when I first purchased them: Thank you for contacting Insignia Products about your NS-BTHDST,Insignia

2- Make sure the headset is off and press and hold the multifunction button
until the blue and red lights flash alternately.
3- Open up MY BLUETOOTH PLACES and click on VIEW DEVICES IN RANGE. check if
the NS-BTHDST appears listed. If so, right click on it and click CONNECT. At
that time, you will be asked for the bluetooth password which is 0000 (four
4- If the NS-BTHDST does not appear listed, click on SEARCH FOR DEVICES IN
RANGE. Once the headset is found, attempt to connect.

If the product works for music, but you cannot get it to work to chat, please,
refer to the software manufacturer (Yahoo, etc) or the computer manufacturer.
Perhaps there is some configuration you have to change, since the product is

Yeah, if you would have looked at the posts in front of you, you would have seen that if you plug the headphones in and then hold down the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time it "resets" the headphones. You then should be able to push the power button and have them come on. I thought my headphones were done and now they work just fine.

Same problem, not charging or turning on. Pushing the volume up and down at the same time then pusing the multifunction button to turn them on worked for me. Working fine now. Happy to have them back. I love these and use them every day. I don't have the receipt anymore from BestBuy so I couldn't return them. Was really bummed out but it works now! :-P

Broiler element does not get hot enough.

I did some work recently on a free-standing electric range.
The broiler element was heating up just a little. It was not getting red hot.
The range was practically new.
I discovered the crimp-on spade terminals to the broiler element had lost their springiness and were not making good contact with the element terminals. The ends of the wires going to the broiler element also showed signs of excess heating due to resistive contacts.
I bought a pack of new, high temperature crimp terminals at the appliance parts store, stripped the wires, and crimped the terminals on.
The original crimp terminals were right-angle. The new crimp terminals are straight. I didn't have a specialized tool for right-angle crimps. The straight crimps worked fine.
Just make sure there's plenty of clearance between the rear cover and the wires coming off the crimps to the Calrod.
Broil element now works great.
By the way, other ranges I've worked on use screw-on terminals instead of press-fit spade terminals. Not sure if press-fit spade terminals hold up after many years of service.
Maybe if an emergency repair needs to be done, could try drilling a hole carefully through the assembled spade terminal and putting in a 4-40 screw to recover the contact without having to buy replacement terminals.

Problem with Phillips FA 443 Amplifier

I have a similar problem with my Kenwood Basic M1D , C2 setup. Move the input select switch through all of its selections a couple of times, this will clean the contacts and should give you a couple of years more life. Or get the Amp serviced there are some very good small Hi-Fi shops. Incidentally the earphone port is usually a signal taken before the amplifier but after the pre amp so is unaffected by the power amplifier. Unfortunately it could aslo be a failed channel in the amp. These can be repaired or replaced and will be cheaper than a new unit.

Audii a6 2001,Are they good cars especially if they got 234 ,000 miles on it

  • Yea. Audi is a great car. However, with 234,000 miles on the engine and transmission I would be a little leery. That's a whole lot of wear and tear no matter how well it was taken care of. If it were me, with that many mile and no previous rebuilds, I might just find something with less miles on it.

  • Hope this helps.

Cleaning the lens from the inside

Cleaning the lens from the inside is not possible from a practical point of view. However, if you don't care that your camera won't work after you've taken it apart but you just want to see what's inside, then go ahead. If you see dust inside the lens and this is what is concerning you, please know that all lenses have dust can't be totally eliminated. In 99.999% of cases, the dust doesn't show up on the actual pictures.

My unit, Kiddi Smoke Alarm Model i12040, beeps once every minute. I've checked the battery and it's above 10v. This is a new unit (date June 2010). I've unplugged the unit, plugged it back...

Have you tried a different battery? Occasionally a battery can read good but die under load. Also use care when replacing the battery. Many devices today specify in small print to leave the battery out for a minimum time period (anywhere from about 15 sec to 5 min, depending on the model). Also, it is sometimes quite easy to reverse the polarity on some of these devices. If all else fails, contact the manufacturer. It's possible the unit itself is bad.

My Nikon Coolpix s550 won't turn on despite having charged the battery. I went out and bought a new battery from Best Buy today and tried to get information on what might help but, surprise, the guy...

refurbished items sure have hidden defects/problems that later contributes to malfunction. i think, one of its internal chips(techy things inside) has worn out... probably needs replacement.. i suggest look for a technician.. if you're living in the philippines,it's easy to find someone. you can save your lovely camera and lil money of course.

We have one of the Patton 18'' U2-1887 floor fans which moves all over the floor. And, is practically unusable if running on Medium or High. Any suggestions?

Hi there,
If the fan is vibrating that much that it is causing the whole unit to 'walk' around, most probably the fan-blades aren't symmetric (unbalanced). One, or more, of the blades could be bend in some way. With fan unplugged from the power, remove guard & slowly turn by hand to identify which blade is out of alignment.
If the blades are plastic & it's near-new , then it means that it has distorted from internal stress, as it has cooled when taken from the mold in the factory, so return it for a replacement! If it's not new, there's nothing you can do as distortion can occur from heat over a period of time acting on those same stresses. However, metal blades can be gently bend back a little bit at a time until it runs smoother. Careful, as it is really easy to make it worse!
Hope this helps, Stevie-RayG :)

Kenmore Front loader

You will have to replace the rear tub assembly (contains bearing) which means practically the whole machine is taken apart. A good tech can do it in about 1.5 hours.

Two years sounds very premature for bearing failure. Make sure you are using HE (high efficiency) detergent (about 2 tablespoons for a full load).

Let me know if you want instructions on how to replace it once you get the rear tub assembly.
