- Please check if it's UDP or TCP. You might have selected TCP for port forwarding but Torrent also uses UDP. For some ports that's important to make both forwarding. One for TCP, the other for UDP.

- If this doesn't work, you need to go deeper. You need to have access to an external computer on internet (a friend) from which you can start a telnet. For instance :
telnet mypublicip 45682

On your side, you need to check what's coming on your network interface. Two options to achieve this :
- Either you book a linux live cd (kubuntu), and you run in a console :
sudo tcpdump -ni eth0
(eth0 is the first ethernet adapter of your workstation).
- Either you use wireshark on Windows, this should do the trick, but you cannot be sure that there is no other software blocking on your current installation.

Need find out how portforward can you tell me how udp and tcp ports open

Here is the solution to help you out to do the port forwarding as you wished sir..

2wire-gateway-1921681254-300x234.png Once you have accessed your default gateway screen for your router, you will then want to click on the firewall tab at the top of the screen. After the firewall summary screen opens, you will then click on the firewall settings tabs to begin setting up an open port on your 2wire dsl router.
2wire-firewall-300x234.png Once the firewall setting screen opens you can then add an open port to your specific pc. Under step 2 you will see a list of predefined applications that have already been created for certain video games, servers and telephony (VoIP) services. Since in my example we are opening a port for Utorrent, we are going to manually configure port forwarding for one of my pc's. To be opening a port for Utorrent, click on "add new user-defined application" you can find the link just below the list on the left side of the screen.
2wire-edit-firewall-settings-300x234.png Once you click on add new user-defined application, you should have a window that resembles the one below. Within this window you should now be able to enter a name for the application that you are opening a port for. Underneath the application name, you know have the choice of either tcp or udp, and then you would enter a port number or a port range that you want to open up.
2wire-add-user-definition-300x234.png For security reasons, you should only open one port, unless the application specifies otherwise. The more ports that you have open on you router, the more doorways you open for hackers and viruses to enter your home network. Since we are opening a port for Utorrent, you are going to want to click on the tcp box and then enter the port number that Utorrent gives you, in my example I am opening up port number 51225. After you have entered you port number, click the add definition button. Once you have added the definition, you are going to then click on the back button.
2wire-utorrent-open-tcp-port-300x234.png After you have clicked the back button, you should now be at the edit firewall settings screen. All you have to do now is select your computer from the list that is listed After you have selected the computer that Utorrent will be hosted on, all you have to do is find the recently created user defined definition from the list under number 2. After you have located the Utorrent port forwarding application simply click on the add button, which should assign the Utorrent port forwarding application to your computer. After you have completed the above steps, you should be all set; now your Utorrent program should download and upload at a faster speed.

I have used Uttorent as an Example for you to have an idea how to do the work.. if you still have any problems or question just send a message i will get to you as soon as possible..

I want to open my NAT so i can play xbox live

Okay. If you look at Network connections on Start menu (XP) open network connections...
Then select the on you are connected to... (LAN or WLAN) Click the support tab and you will see something like "192.168.1.1"
Well type that into your browser, if it ask you for a password the default is normaly "admin" or "1234" (No quotes)
Temper with the "Gaming" or "Wireless connections" or "port forwarding"
If that does not work, are you sure you got xbox live gold?
(or hit the reset button on the back of your router)

Utorrent downloads with WRT54GL?

Before we can forward ports for Utorrent, we need to figure out what ports Utorrent is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up Utorrent.
utorrentmainmenu.jpg

Click Options in the menu at the top of your screen. In the list that drops down click Preferences.
utorrentnetworkoptions.jpg

Click Connections on the left hand side of the Utorrent program. You should now see the menu shown in the screenshot above. Make sure the Enable UPnP box is unchecked. The number in the Port Used for Incoming Connections box contains the port you need to forward. You can change the port number, if you want to. Please enter the port you chose into the box below.
Utorrent's Port for incoming connections To setup port forwarding on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address. Take a look at our Static IP Address guide to setup a static ip address. When you are finished setting up a static ip address, please come back to this page and enter the ip address you setup in the Static IP Address box below.

Do not skip this step! Please enter the static ip you want to forward to: 192.168.1.
wrt54gl0.jpg

Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

wrt54gl1.jpg

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is blank, and the password is admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.

wrt54gl2.jpg

Click the Security link near the top of the page.

wrt54gl3.jpg

Remove the checkmark from the Block Anonymous Internet Requests checkbox.
Click the Save Settings button near the bottom of the page.
Click the Applications & Gaming link near the top of the page.
You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Port Range Forward.

wrt54gl4.jpg

Port Range Application Start End Protocol IP Address Enable To Both 192.168.1. We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Utorrent requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Range Forward menu.
When you're finished, click Save Settings near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!
