I recently bought model 312wr for a Magnavox dvd player. I programmed the remote and everything works fine other than the "Next" and "Back" buttons. They both stop the dvd when they are pressed, instead of going to the next chapter of the movie or going to the previous one. Fast forward and reverse work fine.

Usually you can but replacement remotes, but this is Walmart's own bargain basement brand from China, made at the lowest cost point and the highest profit. Quality is not a consideration!
If your Magnavox Remote is a universal remote control, you should look up the code for Magavox DVD player in the user's manual. It also should indicate the procedure to program your remote and the prcedure if your device won't respond to any code.. Don't have a manual? Do a google search fer Manual Magnavox remote Mode Now, if your Magnavox remot is NOT a universal control and it won't work for your DVD, theres is no way to reprogram it.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to program your TV remote for the DVD Player. The MDV2100F7 was produced in 2010. Your Philips TV was has a manual with a copywrite date of 2003. Other documentation on the Philips site is from 2004 and 2006. (I am assuming that the MDV2100F7 is your model since no MDV21001F7 is listed at Magnavox or Funai (which made the unit).)
The codes in a universal remote control are only for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed. A DVD player released 4 years later is likely to have a different set of control frequencies.
You need a newer remote or control everything with separate remotes. I wish that I had better news for you.

Hi. All you need to do to get your DVD/VCR to work on your Harmony remote is add it to your account. To add a device, log in to the software and click "Add Device." You will be asked to enter the DVD's manufacturer and model number, then click next. Once the device is added, connect your remote to the computer and click "Update Remote." Voila :)

one of these philips/magnavox codes should work press dvd and ok buttons then release - the top row of buttons will blink twice - then enter 4 digit code - after which the dvd button will blink twice - then try power - if fails - try next code.
