Hotpoint CDT40P error message

My dryer got jammed, once un-jammed it all worked well except it stopped heating. I have replaced both high a low temp thermostats and now it is flashing an error message at me; the on/off light is flashing very quickly and the time delay, pre creasecare and alarm light are all flashing simultaneously at approx 1 second intervals. can you tell me what this error message means? thanks

My dryer heats but takes two cycles to dry clothes.

Check the hose in the back and vent to make sure it is breathing properly first. Most driers have a thermistor moisture sensor. Try replacing it first. It nether of these works your heat strip may be shorted so only heating partially. Most driers have two or three thermostats also. Two on the heater cover. One is the high temp and one is the low temp. Usually the high heat will be the problem (cuts out to early before the heat strip fully heats). Others have a third one on the exhaust blower. Check these at room temprature with an ohm meter. They should have continuity. If not replace. Thermostats that are open with no continuity will usually cause the heater not to heat at all. Thermostats can get old and stop working at their intended temp. Replace one at a time

Dryer runs but will not heat. Replaced fuse and

your cycling thermostat needs changed too. the thermal fuse is your last safety measure that goes, which means your cycling thermostat is not shutting down the heat element once it detects the right temp hot air in the blower housing so it let the heat element glow until either the high-limit sensor shuts the heat down or the thermal fuse blows. Change the cycling thermostat and good luck

Dryer keeps cutting out

Dryer outlet hose could be plugged or restricted not letting adequate air cirulate. Check this and the filter to be sure both are clear of obstructions. Make sure the flapper at the end of the dryer vent is working correctly.... A blocked vent will cause the temp to get too high and the unit shuts down rather than burn down the house.
