Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Small dots all over screen

I've been enjoying my xbox360 on my new lcd 52 inch 1080p samsung. I then got dish installed. I use a monster hdmi cable from xbox to tv. Sev hrs after I got my dvr/dish network installed, my beautiful xbox picture while playing halo 3 and another other game using disc is grainy, with all these dots appearing all over the screen randomly. I wonder if it is some kind of interference from adjacent cables? But when my DISH DVR is off, still same problem. Do I need to return my xbox? It is 8 mths old. Thanks.

Cannot output 1080p with a full hd 1080p hdtv

In the settings menu, go to video settings. You can have the PS3 search for "optimal settings" This will tackle both video & audio.
On a side note, you didn't need to spend all that money a HDMI cable. ( I'll bet it's a 'Monster' cable, right? ) The $16 Phillips at walmart is just as good. Unless your doing "broadcast quality digital" work, the expensive cables are overkill. Sorry, bro.

PS3 static on screen

It sounds like you're carrying interference to your TV. Try moving you station away from any power source. Make sure your hdmi cable is away from any power as well. This may also be a ground issue. Plug your ps3 power brick into a different outlet.

Problem connecting HDMI cable

Hey there I don't see why your playstation 3 should be doing that other than the console being defective. Sony doesn't have this problem that often and actually this is the first time i have heard of such problem. Try making sure the the HDMI cable is connected at both ends all the way in and also make sure your Samsung is a 1080P which i am pretty sure it is and finally if you have a friend or another 1080P HDTV in your house i would try and see if your ps3 will support the 1080P feature. If you still have the problem even when you use a different TV then its the ps3 that is malfunctioning otherwise it would be your Samsung. Let me know how that turns out alright.

PS3 PROBLEM

Maybe it isn't a problem with your ps3, but with the tv. Try resetting it, or asking help in the store you bought it.
Resetting a tv is mostly done by cutting of power for 15 - 30 minutes. Be sure to read the manual.
