Just got the vc500 running on Win7. I am attempting to convert vhs to digital using EZgraber to avi. I tried the Mp4 video output but the resolution was lousy. So I coverted avi to mp4 using Handbrake at it was MUCH better. My question is while ripping the vhs with ezgrabber the vhs ends but ezgrabber keeps recording. Does anyone if there is a way autostop ezgrabber capture when the VHS has ended? Many thanks from a noob

You can use either the S-video or the RCA video connector. I don't think you can use both at the same time but I haven't tested that. Also, if you use the S-video adapter, it has no audio so you also have to use the RCA audio connectors when using S-video. Hope that helps...

Diamond VC500 no video formats and black screen, not recording

Had this exact same issue, tried uninstalling, reinstalling, unplugging, plugging back in, updating drivers, etc. with no success, but it was all resolved instantly when I switched the device to a different USB port. The port I was using before works fine (in fact my keyboard is now connected to it as I type) but maybe it is a different type of USB port, and not the one the video capture device is looking for. Hope this helps others with the same issue.

When I connect my camera up to the one touch video capture card my diamond media the video camera picture flickers. Can you help me? thanks.

I had the same symptoms - black & white flickering image.

The problem was that my video source was PAL (European) but the software was set to NTSC (USA) video signal format. When I changed this, it was normal colour video without flicker.

I happened to be using AVS video recorder but similar settings probably exist in most capture programs.

Hello mabusse
The sofware is too heavy for your computer . You can improve it's function buy setting the quality to a lower level , it will record smootherly but of course the image will be less sharp .
I experienced my self that the best way to succeed in recordong video tapes or tv programs is to use a stand alone recorder .
Best regards ,

Try turning off your screen saver. The recorded file will reset to zero whenever the screen saver kicks in.

Cannot save video from vcr

Save should be continuous and automatic when 'Record's pressed. The file is ended and closed when 'Stop' is pressed. The configuration setup tells where the file is to be stored; if no setup was made, it would most likely be in 'my documents' folder. The files are .mpeg types.

I was having this problem also. I originally plugged my 3 video cables into the VCR outlets in the front of the vcr. I finally turned the vcr around and found two other sets of video out plugs. One was to a dvd/dvr and the other was a vcr out. I took the plugs from the front of the vcr and plugged it into the dvd/dvr out and it worked! Good luck with your problem. Hope the resolution is just as simple.
