White screen NV56R06u

Have you tried doing a restore with the backup disks, They usually ask one to create these disks when you get your computer. It is possible the wire that run through the hinge assembly have chafed and shoorted if the computer is a laptop. But you did say PC. A white screen can also mean that you may have to re-install the monitor software. There always the possibilty that your monitoris just in need of replacing. P.S.If you bought it with a visa card, visa automatically doubles manufacturers warraty!!! They also have an extended warranty for around $70.00. It is a 4 year warranty!!! Good luck, hope I helped. Pleasel let me know if this solves your problemm and post that it was solved on the fixya site.

Monitor going berserk

This could be due to corrupt display drivers on the notebook or the video card is going to die. Try updating the graphics drivers on the notebook and check for the issue.

If the issue still persists, then to isolate the exact cause of the issue, I recommend you to connect an external monitor to the notebook and check for the issue on it. If external monitor works fine, then the issue with LCD display screen of the notebook. In case, if the issue persists on external monitor then it states that the video card of the notebook is going to die.

To connect an external monitor to the PC, follow the steps listed below:

1. Turn off the notebook.
2. Connect the monitor cable from the external monitor to the monitor port on the rear/side of the computer.
3. Connect the monitor to a power source and turn it on.
4. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

At this time, please follow the instructions mentioned below for switching the display to the external monitor:

The notebook's video card supports three modes. Built-in screen only; external video only; and both on simultaneously (mirrored). If you're not seeing the image on the desired device(s), the notebook's video card is probably in another mode. Press FN + F4 to cycle through the display options: Notebook display, External monitor, both.

If you press FN + F4 once, the external monitor will display & there will be no Notebook LCD display.
If you press FN + F4 twice, the external monitor will display & there will be some shading on the Notebook LCD.
If you press FN + F4 thrice, both Notebook LCD & external monitor will display.

If the issue persists on the external monitor, then this could be due to defective video card on the notebook. However, if the display on the external monitor is fine, then the issue is with the LCD display panel of the notebook. In either cases, the notebook requires a detailed onsite diagnosis by a service technician.

When I turn on My HP Laptop the system start booting and all of the lights on the laptop turned on but the screen doesn't display a thing it is always dark could anybody help me... Thanks in advance...

This could be due to presence of static charges or hardware malfunction of video card or defective LCD display screen of your notebook. To isolate this issue, perform the following:

HARD RESET

To perform a hard reset, please follow the steps listed below:

1. Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC and remove from any port replicator or docking station.
2. Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
3. Press and hold down the power button for about 20 seconds.
4. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook PC.
5. Press the power button to turn the notebook PC back on.

This will discharge the static charges from the notebook. Now check for the issue. If the issue persists then connect an external monitor to the notebook and check if it works fine. You can follow the steps listed below to connect an external monitor to the notebook.

1. Turn off the notebook.
2. Connect the monitor cable from the external monitor to the monitor port on the rear/side of the computer.

No display everything turns on windows loads but no display

We can further isolate the issue by connecting an external monitor to the notebook. If the display is fine with the external monitor, this clearly indicates that the issue is related to the LCD screen. Otherwise, it is due to the some other internal hardware.

1. Turn Off Computer.
2. Connect the monitor cable from the monitor to the monitor port on
the rear of the computer.
3. Connect the monitor to a power source and turn it on.
4. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

* Switching the display to the external monitor

Press FN + F4 to toggle the display between the Notebook display and
External monitor.

The projector works with one PC but not with

Hi there...well, you've done some useful troubleshooting on your own! Sometimes, different equipment gets "finicky" about syncing properly. Most of the time, turning on the projector first and then immediately turning on the laptop will work. You didn't say what type of "pc" you were connecting. Are they both laptops or a desktop, etc.? Try this, using ONLY the monitor cable that you know works, connect the pc that doesn't display. Lets try to eliminate variables that'll drive you crazy!
Assumption here: if you are using 2 laptops, make sure that the one that doesn't display is set properly(i.e. usually an "alt F4 or some such key combo) to display to an external source. The function key will have a small TV screen symbol on it. Remember, "normal mode" is *laptop only* for the display. Next is "laptop + external display", and finally "external display" only. If you press the combination again, you'll return to the "laptop only" mode.

Power On / No Boot

Is it POSTing? Do parts make noise and then theres a Beep? The beep means it finished the Power On Self Test. Once it posts then it will show splash screen or black screen with it testing hard drives disk drives etc.. If no post is the led lit that says A/C is connected? before you attempt to turn on? If no post and good ac to rear connector then you probably need a new motherboard.

Won't power on. No lights at all.

You have done Most of it...
You have tried to swap the Power cords that work fine with the Other Monitors and If that do not work there are 2 things externally that could be bad.

1-> The Power Button.
2-> The Port where you would Plug in the Power cable.

so Check if the Power button is stuck or Broken, or Loose out of control.
besides that If with one of the good power cord connected when you connect an external Head phone and you receive some Kind of sound out of it.,
It could be because of the Display settings.
you can try the monitor self test.
By having the Monitor Unpluged from the computer but still connected to the power.
you would see a message that shows, that the VGA cable is not pluged in if that shows your Monitor is fine otherwise it is BAD.
