Oddities that occur during playback within Netflix on the PS3 can often be corrected by deleting the Netflix software from the system and then reinstalling it. This clears some cached files that can interfere with playback at times. You may have to "re-activate" your PS3 on the Netflix site, but this is a relatively quick and painless process.
If this does not help, double check your media playback settings in the PS3's Settings Menu, and insure they match the capability of your chosen cables and receiver. Alternatively, you may wish to change the cable or connection interface you're using (RCA to HDMI or vice versa) to insure this isn't an oddity with your receiver, television, or cables.
If none of this corrects the issue, and everything else functions as expected on your PS3, then it is likely a Netflix issue. These problems crop up form time to time and are usually resolved within a day or two.
