Laptop will not detect new memory upgrade

Well, for starters make sure that your ram is securely installed and locked into place. Second make sure that RAM that you purchases can be used in the computer (4 GB SO-DIMM) which is very important which is also translated into PC3-12800 SODIMM. Your current net book I am sure you are aware can only max out at 8 gigs of RAM. Another thing is one should consider is when one is buying ram is to buy two of the same brand, because using two different brands sometimes does not work well.
This is the model that you are working with?

1. Verify you have compatible RAM (PC3-12800 SODIMM)
2. Verify that your RAM is locked into the holders securely and pressed completely into the slot, so that the pins make full contact within the slot.
3. The RAM could just be DOA (dead on Arrival) though most of the times this does not happen. Since most ram companies guarantee that the RAM is fully functional.

Can toshiba a300 satalite psagca-06p01q use kingston sodimm 200pin 2gig ram modules.

You have to know what type of ram is in the toshiba and how much ram can it hold and how many slots there are in the laptop to hold the ram.

I just checked my favorite memory site because it gives me all the details I mentioned above. it's called 4 all memory and I will provide the link below.

Your laptop uses PC2-6400 SODIMM and will accomodate up to 8GB. It has 2 slots so each slot can hold up to 4GB.

The PC2-4200, PC2-5300 or PC2-6400 memory is interchangeable and should all work.

Reg ram upgradation

Each memory slot on the C555NR can support a maximum of 1GB of RAM. There are actually 2 slots, but only one is easily accessible to you. By upgrading both the primary and secondary DIMMs, you could achieve a total of 2GB of memory but you would have to remove the 512mb chip that is already installed and replace it with 1GB (+1GB in the expansion slot as well.)

If you don't plan on taking the computer to a professional to be serviced, you will probably only want to upgrade the memory in the secondary slot located under the memory cover on the underside of the computer. It can handle a 1GB SODIMM.

FYI the memory is:
200 Pin DDR2-533 PC2-4200 SODIMM

Good luck!
