Question about Samsung HL-R6167W 61" HDTV

1 Answer

My HL-R5668WX/XAA is having the same problem as some other people...

I have replaced the bulb, colorwheel, and ballast...unless they are defective parts they all were purchased brand new from At first my TV went out one day and then after many tries it finally booted up, but now it doesn't boot up to show anything at all. It starts the fans and the light starts to come on, but then it shuts down and restarts 2 more times before it shows on the indicator that it has something to do with the lightbulb as it shows a lightbulb on the front status indicator. Its been out for almost a year and I haven't had the money or time to get it fixed. I paid money for the new parts and they didn't fix it so now I have no idea where to go from here...It sucks having such a nice TV yet it not work =(

Please if you can help I would appreciate it greatly! Thanks!!

I replaced the colorwheel and the lamp. The TV powers up the lamp comes on and about 5 seconds later the lamp goes off and the TV powers off. Any ideas?

You may still have an issue with the color wheel. That or the ballast is bad. I don't think it's the lamp if you've just purchased a new one. It's possible that you've installed the color wheel wrong, or that the color wheel is defective.

Replaced lamp housing(bulb). Now having trouble

replace the colorwheel. if the colorwheel doesn't spin or spin properly, the lamp won't light. if the colorwheel is ok, you have a ballast problem.

There is no more picture. i thought it was the bulb i replaced the bulb but still no picture or light coming out

may be the colorwheel. if the colorwheel doesn't work, the lamp won't light. if the colorwheel and the lamp are ok, replace the ballast/power supply.

Projector turns on but does not illuminate bulb is good

may be either the colorwheel or the ballast. if you hear the colorwheel spin up (high-pitched whir), replace the ballast. if you don't hear it, replace the colorwheel.

Replaced a bulb and the red lamp light still comes on and the projector turns off

colorwheel or ballast need replacing. when you turn it on, listen for a high-pitched whir. if you hear it, the ballast is bad. if you don't, replace the colorwheel.

Infocus 1n32 show the bulb is bad but when replaced the unit still will not light up.

could also be a bad colorwheel or ballast. if you hear a high-pitched whir when you start it up, the colorwheel is working and the problem may be the ballast. in no whir, replace the colorwheel.

My HL-S4266W Samsung projection tv shut off by itself and all lights were blinking. The TV would turn back on but turn itself off after a few minutes. I replaced the bulb but this did not fix the problem....

Actually7 there's a possibility that your ballast is the one causing the problem, the thing is that with samsung tvs what goes bad most of the time, besides the lamp, are the ballast and the colorwheel, in this case my hopes are on the ballast, but if you want to be more sure discountdashmerchantdotcom
