Sony FD Trinitron Wega KV-34HS430 TV

Sony FD Trinitron Wega will not power on. I have tried unplugging TV for several minutes and the problem remains. The problem has occured previously for several days then disappeares, then returns! The red light flashes 6 times!

I have the exact same problem with my TV set (same TV). Any luck fixing it?

TV will not power on. Has been slow to resond in past weeks, but would eventually come on. Now won't power on at all. Red stand by light flashes continuously. We've unpluged, changed surge protector, still nothing.

Since this seems to recover for a while, I'd first look for poor solder connections on the board. If you can solder, resolder any connection that appears grainy or has rings. Let me know if that resolves the problem. If not, the likely part is a bad capacitor in the kine bias circuit. I'll look up your specific model in that case and get you specifics.

This unit shouldb e flashing a repeated count on the standby light. That count will indicate the circuit in which a problem was detected causig the shutdown. Please post that count and we should be able to provide details on the repair.

Seven Blinks: High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into shutdown. Check power supply and horizontal circuits.
