Toshiba has documentation for most of their products on their support page: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp . Select DVD & Blu-ray, DVD Recorders and the model in the drop down menus. For the D-VR610KU (US model) DVR Recorder and VCR, the documentation is here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=2805098&rpn=undefined&modelFilter=D-VR610KU&selCategory=2797338&selFamily=2797342 . Click on the User's Guide tab.

Crutchfield, also, has the manual for the D-VR610 on their product page: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Sv51EbxtB79/p_052DVR610/Toshiba-D-VR610.html#details-tab . Toshiba DVD Player. Model# 610 or 620. I need a manual.

Here is the User Manual download page for the Toshiba D-VR610 :

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Toshiba-D-VR610-DVD-Players-manual/id/14714dj892/t/2/

Hopefully that is the model you are referring to.

To download the manual, just click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated.

Once you get to the RETREVO site, just click on the blue DOWNLOAD DOCUMENT link on the left hand side of the page.

Next just type in the numbers that you see in the captcha image, and don't bother with your email address, it's not necessary.

Then click the red DOWNLOAD NOW button.

Next click on SAVE when it asks you if you want to save or open the file. Choose a place in your computer like the DESKTOP to save it so that you can find it easily later. Then click OK.

Once the file is downloaded, click on OPEN and then you should see the manual for your machine appear.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.

Joe.

We recently purchased a toshiba recorder/vcr combo d-vr610 and it plays dvd's with no problem but we tried to watch a video and we couldn't get a picture. I can't find the manual to see what I need to do....

The DVD will play through component, composite, or HDMI, but you have to hook the VCR up separately with component cables - look at the back of the combo, you'll see where it says "VCR". That's where the cables have to go. Pretty silly, but I had the same problem, and this is the only solution I could come up with.

DVD/VCR user manual

Hey Arasimo,

According to information provided by the manufacturer, a replacement copy of the owner's manual for your Toshiba D-VR610 should be obtainable through one of three distributors. Please keep in mind that the distributors may each only serve a specific region of the country, so you may wish to refer to the following webpage for more information:

http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/customersupport/parts_accessories.asp

You should be able to find a drop-down box mid-page that allows you to choose whether you are in the Western, Central or Eastern portion of the U.S. Once you've chosen your region, the page should display the name, telephone number and other contact information for the distributor that serves that area.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

DVD Combo Toshiba D-VR610

Hey Paulo PC,

Based on information provided by the manufacturer, this specific model (Toshiba D-VR610) was built to meet NTSC standards. Due to the similarities between the NTSC and PAL-M formats, this model should be able to support both types of video tapes, but remember that you will most likely need to use a TV that shares the same format as the tape being played to avoid a "washed out" or monochrome image.

Additionally please keep in mind that because this player supports the NTSC format, it was most likely built for use with Region 1 (U.S. and Canada) DVD's only. While some manufacturers do provide region-free support in their players, you would need to speak with Toshiba directly for more information regarding the availability of this feature.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
