If you already checked the cables then perhaps its the nic card, Check if its properly installed under device manager and make sure there is no question mark or exclamation point. Reinstall the driver if needed.

I loaded xp pro but my ethernet port is not active. Do I need to load ethernet drivers?

That means that the operating system doesn't have a database for your Ethernet device. You have to have the driver that came together with your PC and you should find the driver for your Ethernet device using that.

My Dell 1501 laptop wont detect any wireless network and will not pick up my network even when using an ethernet cable to the router.

Hi, you need to check that the drivers are installed working properly with no problems. Go to start, control panel, hard ware and select device manager. Any problems will be highlighted with a yellow ?. right click here and select update driver. If this doesn't work go to Del's website and download the latest driver. Hope this helps

Lan terminal not working

first check for all the drivers in the device manager.... if every thing is perfect in driver side, then check if the ethernet/ lan is enabled....
then check is the light in the ethernet adapter is lit, when you plug any ethenet cable in it... still if it is not working, then finally try to update the latest driver for the ethernet controller.... if nothing works, then buy an pci ethernet card and use it..... you can also buy external cards like usb to ethernet converter... even belkin manufactures usb to ethernet controller....

Can i connect ethernet cable to my 6 years old packard bell desktop

As your Laptop itself doesn't have a ethernet card, you can't connect it. But I have a solution, you can buy a USB Ethernet Adapter, which you can buy for a cheap price and you won't need to open up your laptop or any stuff like that. Just plug into your USB port and start working with Ethernet.

It looks like this:

Hope this helps.

Samsung r60 no wireless device anymore

Download "DRIVER MAX" it's free and will scan your computer, find installed drivers and hardware, then find the latest drivers for it. I have just changed from Vista (rubbish) to XP on my Tosh. The wireless card on mine is on the ethernet card so to use wireless I had to enable the ethernet card so that driver max could "find" the wireless card. You will be suprised, as I was, how many drivers you are using are XP default drivers. And how much better your laptop runs after just a few new drivers are installed.

IBM ThinkPad i Series 1200

Try this driver. I've used it on a few I-series Thinkpads that I've had come through my shop. After the download, uninstall the ethernet drive from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the ethernet port and reinstall the drive automatically. If this one doesn't work for you, let me know, an d we'll try a different one.

Ethernet port

Try reloading the ethernet drivers from the device manager. Uninstall the drivers then reboot. It will find the hardware and reinstall the drivers. Then update the drivers from HP's support site. If you still have the issues, then it may be a faulty port. Take it in and have it checked out.
