If you can try a different monitor to be connected to that CPU just to check which one is really the problem, it will help us diagnose which has the problem here...

In the disk you burned, the bios can't read a zip file, the file needs to be extracted and as far as I remember you need to use a diskette instead of a cd. but I will look into it now.

You can get the bios from here
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P4V8X-X

Get the 1008 version

its under Bios and 3rd entry, all os version 1008
File is in zip format, needs to be extracted.
the rom file inside needs to be placed in a diskette.
Comment by Ekse, posted on Aug 07, 2008 Diskette or if you can get the bios to read a cd then that is fine also. Comment by Ekse, posted on Aug 07, 2008 if the setup is looking for a file named as
P4V8X-X.rom

it may be required to rename the PV8XX08.rom to P4V8X-X.rom

But im not perfectly sure what you are trying todo or why it is asking for it. il have to look into this more. Comment by Ekse, posted on Aug 07, 2008 As I suspected, BestDarnGood linked us the manual and the correct page about the problem. it confirms that the file has to be renamed and placed in a floppy.

Thanks BDG

All of a sudden a spam verification box keeps coming up when I attempt to send, forward, or reply to mail. The computer won't even let me enter the code in the box. How did this happen? I need to fix...

You don't mention the name of the application that is running this "verification box". If you didn't install this feature, and don't recognize it as a function of your internet security software or email program, begin by looking in Add/Remove programs in control panel and see if you can find an entry for it there. Remove it if you find entries you are sure don't belong there. (google for more info.)
If not, you may have been the unwitting recipient of malware installed on your system.
To remove it, go to www.malwarebytes.com and download, install, update and run a scan with their Anti-Malware software. Fix any problems it finds, and report back with the results.
If would also be advisable to run an in-depth scan of your system with your anti-virus software...
And download and run ATF cleaner to clear your browser cache and temp files.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Windows XP SP3 IE v7.0

When you say download do you mean any file you try to download? Have you tried using another browser such as firefox? If you do not have firefox installed I assume you cannot download it to try. If this is the case I would suggest going to a friend or family members computer & downloading it to a thumbdrive or cd then take it home & install it. If you can download from firefox. Then I would uninstall IE V 7 from add remove programs & then re install it. I'm assuming you have tried the usual things like restarting your computer
