I have the same problem. Water leaks from under crisper drawers, happens every couple of weeks. Also the ice cubes are hollow too, not sure if it's related but maybe drain tube frozen? Where is the drain tube?

SOURCE: Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over

We had a similar problem. It ended up being a frozen pea that fell down into the defrost drain and was blocking the water from draining out each time the freezer defrosted.

SOURCE: Refrigerator leaking water

This sounds like the water line from the icemaker and the cool water reservior inside the refridgerator side. The line is a rigid plastic hose and could be a leak at one point that is small enough to allow water to run along the line. Also sounds like you have a humidity problem. Check the door seals and wipe them off and apply a thin coat of die-electric grease to the seal. this will help keep it pliable and soft.
The water in the bottom leaks into a trough that is made into the fridge. This usaully evaporates, This is for the auto-defrost. It keeps the water from getting on the floor.
Check to see if the outer door gets hot at the edges. If not, It may not be auto-defrosting.
I would first check the water line first as this seems to be a more serious issue right now. The line is probably loose at one of the connections between the ice maker and water reservior.

Your refrigerator has a defrost drain blockage behind the evaporator in your your freezer compartment. Some models like yours have leak in the turns as the water leaves the freezer. I recommend that you unplug and remove the cover to the evaporator and check the defrost condensate tray below the evaporator. A wet vacuum cleaner and poring a solution with clorox in the drain will help you clean locate the leak and where the blockage may be downline.. I do have the manual on yours and can help you solve this. Some times this is a factory defect and I can help you solve the freezing drain problem. Let me know, Sea Breeze

you have a defrost problem, could be bad adaptive defrost board,t-stat heater, when you open freezer door listen for fan if fan is blowing check the t-stat,look at it and see if it has a buldge on it,sometime you can see this and tell it's bad, you'll need a meter to read out the heater and other parts to see whats bad, might be a good idea to call a tech to do this, when you find problem you have to melt everything out again

SOURCE: water dripping from freezer onto top shelf of fridge with ice buildup back of freezer

the defroster isn't close enough to the drain to be effective. remove the back wall of the inside of the freezer, remove the excess ice. clear out the ice from the drain using hot water and a turkey baster. there is a kit from whirlpool that uses a piece of metal and a screw around the defrost rod, but I found out that a piece of 14 gauge solid core wire with the insulation stripped off works great too. stick the stripped wire into the drain, 2 to 3 inches, and wrap the rest around the defrost rod.

Model GX5FHTXVB03 - Bottom Freezer - ice buildup in the bottom that leaks on to the floor - Ice maker is NOT connected (no water supply to the refrigerator)

Our Amana/Whirpool fridge is 5 years old and this just happened for the 2nd time. As previous posters explained, the defrost drain tube is likely frozen. Remove all food from the fridge and freezer and unplug it for a day. This will thaw it out. Take the opportunity to clean it inside and out (wipe the interior, vacuum the condenser coils underneath). It may leak on the floor if the drip pan overflows after it thaws, so keep a towel or rag handy. I got this advice from a nice lady at the Whirlpool service number, so this is a common problem. She saved me a service call :-)

After a day, plug it back in and reload it. It should work OK. Not necessary to check circuit boards, pump air into the tube, etc unless it still doesn't work It helps to have a 2nd refrigerator handy, in my case a Maytag/JennAir that doesn't have this problem. Note that newer Maytags are Whirlpools also. I will not buy another one of these.

MTG1950GR Maytag water puddling in bottom of fridge

This CAN happen (and usually DOES) when your fridge is in dire need of a COMPLETE thawing. You'll need 24 hours to store your perishables. Open doors and UNPLUG and let it thaw. You CAN hurry the process with a hair dryer, but be sure #1: you use standard precaution against electrical shock if dripping water enters your hair dryer, and #2: DO NOT overdo use of the hair dryer and melt platic parts that'll make you sorry. :)

Hi, I have a refurbished RFG297AARS from Samsung that we purcased as a refurb about 7 days ago. On day 1-3, a puddle of water formed under the back right underside of the fridge, without the water line...

Chances are its either the drip line or drip tray.. there is a drain to route the condensation pulled out of the fridge and freezer that leads to a drip pan underneat the unit.

Either the drip tray was not installed.. reinstalled incorrectly or the drain tube is leaking or no longer directed to it, or it's overflowing due to excess condensate.

Best of luck!

My Fridgidaire Professional series refrigerator has a puddle of water in front of it about once every other day. The puddle is around the front on the freezer side of the fridge. What can I do to fix this?

Drain line in the freezer section is clogged, needs cleaning. There is a small drain pan on the bottom of the rear wall in the freezer. It is covered with ice. Defrost or remove ice, and get to the drain hole. try flushing with hot water, if does not help - clean mechanically on both sides of the drain line - in the freezer and in the back of the fridge, where it comes to the drain pan near condenser/compressor.

you hear a constant running water sound? look in your manual under "normal operating sounds". it explains all of the sounds. it sounds like you're hearing the refrigerant going thru your evap. coil located behind the rear frzr panel. you unit goes into the defrost cycle roughly every 8hrs and water drip down into the condensate pan un the refrig.

you may want to check your door seal, air leaking thru the door seal causes condesation, also make sure that the drain tube is clear under the defrost element in your freezer.

Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

A bad freezer door seal causes condensation that freezes at the bottom of the unit. I realize you said the drip pan was full of ice, but if the drain is clogged, that will happen. If that unit has the pan at the very bottom, condensation can also contribute to this.

Water in bottom of Roper Refrigerator/Freezer Unit

I have the same problem. I suspect the drain line for the auto defrost is clogged and so the water is dripping down into the fridge. (The water from the auto defrost cycle is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it evaporates over a period of a few days). I have yet to locate the drain line though.

Ice in Refrigerator Section

there are 2 possibilities. first the drain is blocked causing water to overflow from the defrost water gulley at the bottom rear of the inside of the fridge. this can form ice as it is close to the division between fridge and freezer. second, the .fault of ice growth can be caused by breakdown of the cabinet insulation. of the two, the first is the moree likely. to test drain is cloear, pour a little water down the drain. if it does'nt flow freely, push something flexible down the drain hole till blockage is clear
