I have D-Link DES-1024D switch.I m facing hanging problem during few days. After restart switch its working but after few houre its hang.plz solved my problem.

There is no configuration on the switch, this is a dumb layer 2 device. Plug in you PC's etc.. and go. The switch will auto detect the speed and duplex of the device connected to it.

The ethernet cable is probably damaged. If it is not... is the switch plugged in? Does it power on? Is the other end of the ethernet cable plugged into a live host?

My First option is to restore the switch to factory default once and then reconfigure the switch.

What is the IOS running on the DES-1024D ?
Are you getting any error message in the log when the switch is hanging. ( through console connection).

Second Option is to upgrade the IOS to a recent one.

You switch does not provide DHCP services (assigning of IP Addresses). That is done by either your router or a server on your network.

D-Link 1024D performace drops when it gets heated.. Thermal problem.. switch off this equipment for few minutes and try.. keep this equipment in proper ventilation

I interconnect a D-Link DES-10160 with D-Link Gigabit Switch DGS-1024D network and my network becomes slow

connect only DGS -1024D to your network....it will be faster...
because DGS supports 10/100/1000 speed.... but DES supports only 10/100 speed...
connect DGS directly to your network and work with that... if you wish to extend the number of ports then connect the DES to one of the ports of DGS

and dont connect DGS to one of the ports of DES

Hello,
I suggest you reconfigure you network. Maybe your configuration authorizes only one IP adress on the network.

Try to reset your router to defaults to see if that solve your problem. After that you will have to reconfigure the router.

D link DES 1048G Switch, is facing communication problem

u r saying after restarting of switch it is working fine.

is ur switch is getting hit while it is hangup
leds are starting blinking ??

if switch get hit u need to send it to service centre and replace card.
if switch is hanging while all LEDS are blinking this means one of the network calbe is getting short. u may need to search the faulty cable and restart the switch
