My 545000 Powermate has been used about 600 hours--either as backup to rural electricity outage, or for Ham Radio Field Day on day a year. This year after about 8 hours of operation it quit. The engine runs beautifully, but no electricity. Can this be a frayed wire? I have not grounded this generator. could this be a problem?

Hi! After a power outage my Little Giant SPBS-12 backup system sounded an alarm that wouldn't quit even after power was restored (it was only off for an hour). When unplugged the louder and more...

What is the age of the unit? Those batteries don't last forever and are constantly under a small charge. When the outage happened the battery discharged and the sensing circuit was able to tell that the battery was no longer any good.

My son purchased this generator about a year and half ago and has used it very little. during a power outage we got it out and used it for a day and the circut board went out. shouldnt it have lasted...

That sux! Thats NOT acceptable in any way... Take it back and demand it gets repaired.. With devices such as this it is not the simple passing of time that ages it, but the actual POWER ON time... & Yes if Overloaded it should simply have "Tripped" a breaker or the like.
