Re: Card Not Initialized!! Fuji FinePix 2600 Zoom Digital
Are you using the camera to format the card ? I had a similar problem with a 3V 16MB card in my Fuji MX1200. I used the "Format" capability, oddly located in the "Trashcan"/erase mode, but it "initialized"/formatted the card with no problems or error messages after that. Hopefully you have a similar format function on your camera. The URL I'm referencing here is for the MX-1200, but you may find your camera elsewhere on this excellent site (not mine).

You dont need the disc to download to computer.Take the card from the camera and put it into the card reader on your computer if one is fitted, if not you need one that goes into a USB slot
When the card is inserted into the reader a box will open on the screen with several options as to view images or download them.
I would also download Picasa 3 which puts your photos in date order and also has photo editing. This is a free download and is part of google.
If you have a card reader for your computer, see if the card works on your computer.
If it does then try just using windows to format your card, sometimes after extensive use cards can have their contents table messed up with lots of pictures being erased and created.
Otherwise try another card to see if it is the camera itself.
If more than one card doesn't work its probably the camera, and unless you bought a extended service plan with the people you bought it from your probably be better off to buy a new camera then trying to get it fixed.
Small electronics like cameras are very rarely cheap to fix and thats if the manufacturer will even consider doing it
My camera which was working already suddently stopped working. When I want to do anything on this viz. try to take a new snap or try to erase any/all frames, on screen I see "card not initialized". I have cleaned the smart card with a soft cloth, but no results have been seen.
