Could be as simple as a fingerprint or smudge.Give the disk a good wipe with a cloth like the ones for cleaning spectacles and retry.

Your problem is most likly the ac/dc adapter, try your power cord for your car see if that works. if it does then its the adapter. Venturer has had some problems with their chargers.

I have a problem like this but mine will play regular dvd's
and just stop playing hd dvd's . exact same message
