Hi, i had the same problem. Solution: A small plastic part of my headset was fallen into it. I opened the printer and found it there. It blocked the paper. You can open the printer by pressing down all the plastic locks with a screwdriver (about 8). There is one under the Power Button, that you have to disengage first (2 screws). While the printer is open you can check what's wrong by printing a page and see what it does. Maybe cleaning some parts already helps.

I have a Sharp Al-2040cs when I turn it on the misfeed indicator is blinking. I checked it there no misfeed paper or piece of paper inside. How can I fix this problem?

The MISFEED Indicator blinks when a MISFEED has occurred. Remove the misfed paper referring to the the description of MISFEED REMOVAL beginning on page 65 of the pdf Manual at:

http://files.sharpusa.com/Downloads/ForHome/HomeOffice/PrintersFaxMachines/Manuals/cop_man_AL2030_AL2040CS.pdf

When the MISFEED Indicator is blinking you should look closer at the paper feed area (see page 66 of the PDF). You may need to remove the paper tray to find any remnants of paper. If after closing the side cover the light does not stop blinking you will need to follow through as per the illustrated instructions.

Remember after removing jammed paper, you need to press the clear key to clear the MISFEED error.

If after doing all this the error signal has not cleared, power down the printer; unplug from the power supply; let rest 5 - 10 minutes; plug back i to power supply; turn printer on and see if this resolves issue.

Trust this is helpful. Please vote. :)

Paper jam and no paper to be found in the copier

Possible misfeed, first replace or clean feed tires. The machine is not picking the paper up in time ,hence no paper in machine.

Canon Pixma MX310: misfeeds

Hi Paper misfeeds are normally caused by something obstructing the paper path. Look really carefully both above and below the path that the paper takes through the printer. The jammed paper itself can give you a clue about which side the obstruction is on, there wiil often be some sign, such as a bent corner on the page etc. Also check the sliding guides that keep the paper straight, they should be slid in until they are a snug fit with the paper, but not so tight that they stop it from feeding

I865 flashing 3 times

That's a "paper jam" error that can be fixed by removing all paper and pressing the resume/cancel button. Then replace the paper in the feed chute.
The printer can straighten out a crooked feed to a very limited degree. The photo feeder attachment can interfere with a really full 8x11 feed. The i860 is very susceptible to overfilling the 8 1/2 x11 feeder without notice until you try to print. I usually remove the photo feeder until I need to print photos, and keep the regular paper feeder no more than 3/4 full. I pull out the regular paper when printing photos.

Canon i865 6x4 photo tray - knob wont turn to engage paper seems jammed. Thanks

Embarrisingly simple fix. The printer was pushed up close to our wall thus not allowing to the paper feeder sit back normally. Therefore the photo tray was not sitting correcly. Once placed in the proper position, it all worked fine.
Thanks for the response though.
Kind Regards.

Hi! I've got same problem. Canon userguide says that 5 flashes means the print head is not installed/not properly installed, or it is defective. Not yet sorted problem out - new print-heads are expensive!
