Thanks for the advice, we finally got it working, but the quality could be improved, so will try your suggestions which sound like good advice, I was thinking of the memory upgrade as possibility already.

    Thanks again, Menz44

Hi menz44,

Here are some things to consider:

  • perform disk cleanup and defrag
  • ad more memory
  • upgrade to a better video adapter/card
  • adjust your system performance - to use less memory.
  • Remove temp files and cookies from IE.
This will help and good luck

Cant watch vieodes without buffering

You-tube I assume.

Your internet line speed is slow, reduce the viewing quality.

Set it lower than it is set to currently, by clicking the spanner on the bottom right of the video.

Take care!

Dell optiplex hardware failure no screen when I turn it on. What do i do to get the screen to come on. thanks.

Hello,1st Is your computer turning on? Fans spinning? any beeps?
2nd Please check to see all the connections are properly connect (VGA,DVI,Power)3nd - Is you monitor on the right input? VGA,DVIIf you can confirm all the above is correctly plugged and set then you have 2 things that could of failed.1st - your video card. The vidoe card outputs the video signal to the monitor. One reason you make not be getting video feed
2nd - your monitor. try swapping cables or monitor and see if you get any picture.
Is your PC still under warranty? Dell will replace the video card if under warranty.

I am viewing vidoe clippings from vimeo. I would like to reduce the screen size and hear only audio so that download time will be less and hanging can be avoided

I'm sorry, but this is not a current feature on Vimeo. Pausing playback and waiting for it to buffer will decrease the likelihood of stuttering, though. You may also use websites like http://clipnabber.com/ in order to download the video and not worry about streaming it.
Thank you

Is anyone having THIS problem with youtube -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When ever I try to play a youtube it pauses during play usually quite often...

That is usually a problem with slow (or heavily utilized) network connection. If you don't mind waiting a little, play the video and click the 'pause' button. Wait for the video to buffer (you can see the progress bar growing slowly) before playing the video again. Hope this helps.

Slow internet on 1 computer

download atf cleaner to the desktop of the slow computer. open it , check the box that says "select all" then click on "clean selected". the first time you run this, it may take a few minutes. this program empties all the junk internet explorer saves, which reduces bandwidth issues. I run mine everytime i get off the internet. after the first run, it runs much quicker, and always run it twice or until you get the message "no files were removed" if you can't get to this point, you should run your virus scanner in safe mode. if your getting fast internet on the other three computers , it's not your provider, it's something between your router and your monitor, usually trash your web browser is trying to update while you are trying to surf. www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1

run this program , post again here if you need further assistance..
Regards..

Hi..I've downloaded pictures and videos from my digital camera. I am able to send the pictures but not the vidoes.....can you help? Thank you, Rachel

I'm suspecting your internet service provider can't handle the large files (maybe the connection is too slow, or your email account has a file size limitation). Try to create a SMALL video file with your camera...literally no more than 1 or 2 seconds, so that it will have SMALL size. If possible, use a smaller/lower resolution video setting to help keep the file size down. Then upload the small file to your email. Check the file size to see the size as compared to the other videos, and your regular photos. If you are able to send it, and the size is similar to your photos, then it means that the other videos are just too big. (how big are those original video files you were having touble with?).

HI.I was watchinglive streaming but there is a eror sudenly.this eror:rtsp://78.129.143.64/broadcast/pull/81.31.32.47:2030/broadcast/pull/81.19.7.50:3051/stv3.rmvb Can you help me...

Streaming audio/video quality can be affected by connection rate and Internet congestion. Many types of interruptions between your computer, your player, your computer's OS, your local network, your ISP and a streaming server can exist and cause trouble....
When you listen to the live audio/video stream, the sound or video skips, cuts out or buffers if the player doesn't have enough network bandwidth, it will buffer. Try increasing your player's buffering setting. Also:
  • Make sure you are choosing the appropriate bandwidth version of a media stream based on your Internet connection.
  • Make sure you are choosing the appropriate bandwidth settings in an Internet media player or streaming audio/video recorder.
  • Make sure NOT to download applications or files while watching/listening to media streams. Your Internet connection is shared between all open applications including your web-browser, your download manager and your streaming player. Closing applications that use your Internet connection simultaneously with your streaming player may reduce buffering.
  • Close other unnecessary applications that may be open on your computer. Reboot your computer. If you have lots of other programs open, they may be using too much processor time and/or RAM for the player to work properly.
  • Make sure your Internet connection is fast enough to reliably listen to streaming audio and/or watch streaming video online. High speed Internet connection is recommended.
  • Make sure your computer is fast enough. If your computer is old, it might be too slow to play an audio/video stream regardless of what else it's doing.
  • Update your media players and streaming audio/video recorders regularly.
Internet congestion can slow down the delivery of the stream, make it difficult for you to connect or cause buffering. Often the interruption is temporary. Please try to connect a few times at different times of the day, if possible. If you repeatedly have problems connecting, please notify your ISP - there are often quick fixes they can make when they learn about your issue.

Try the above steps you will find a solution to your problem....100% it will work.....

Poor video quality with windows movie maker

Windows movie maker is just a generic xp add on that I am sure was an after thought and never will give you good quality movies it does alright and should give acceptable results if you have a good graphics card and vga card but try useing nero to burn movies the burning speeds can be slowed right down to give exellent quality and if you just want a reasonable quality dvd you can turn the burn speed up to burn faster but you always sacrafice quality for speed on any dvd burning program unless you go get a profestional one and upgrade to much higher quality graphics and vga cards you also need a good deal of ram to
