If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/ http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/
Search the site by type in the brand name of your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the Home page display" to see the set-up codes to your device, with different brand remote controls. Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device.
I know it may not be this simple, but I have set up like 5 of those remotes for clients, I always have to remind them to make sure everything is off before starting from scratch trying a function.
That way they are not doing the opposite (On/Off) of what they are supposed to do.
Begin the Setup Process Step 1: Create your Harmony Login If the Harmony remote web site is not automatically launched, go to the Harmony remote web site and create an account. Step 2: Complete the Online Setup Process Once you have created your Harmony login, the online setup process begins. You will guided through a series of question-and-answer steps to complete each of the five main steps of the online setup process: 1. Identification: Requires you to create a login on our member web site. 2. Check Connection: Ensures your computer and your Harmony remote are communicating properly. 3. Set up Devices: Helps you set up a description of your personal home theater system. 4. Set up Activities: Helps you set up a description of the connections for devices that allow you to perform Activities (e.g. Watch Television Activity). 5. Update Remote: Updates your remote with your personal configuration.
Looks like you lost memory when you changed the batteries. Set up the Harmony remote from scratch. Plug the USB cable from the remote to your PC, log into your Harmony account on the Web, and reprogram it. If you never did this when you acquired the remote, set up a new account. Go to the Logitech website and set up your account and follow the directions. You do have the specialized USB cable, right?
If they are exactly the same model and your component setup is the same as well (for example, you have exactly the same TVs and they each have the same DVD player as well, and the inputs-outputs have all been configured the same way), then the 'Watch TV' activity you set up will successfully control all of the setups in each room. But, let's say that you have the same TV in each room, but in one situation you have a connected DVD player and in another you have a home theatre and still the other is only the TV by itself with no additional devices. In this case, you would set up 3 different Activites and call them 'Watch TV 1", "Watch TV 2", etc. Each activity would be configured to use the same make & model television, but would also include the devices that were unique to each room's configuration. Hope this helps!
1. Login to your Harmony Remote Account. 2. Click on the Settings button next the Watch TV Activity. 3. Choose Review the settings for this Activity. 4. When the software asks what device are you using to control volume, please choose the TV. 5. Continue through the setup until you are brought back to the Home Screen. 6. Click on the Update remote button and follow the on screen steps. 7. Once the update is completed, please test the Watch TV Activity.
Update your Harmony remote control software on your PC to the latest. Go into the TV device settings. The software should recognize if there is an update to your TV's IR commands. Try the same things with the DVR.
It's also possible the TV and/or DVR are locking up due to IR commands that are being sent too quickly. The remote has a setting for the delay between commands sent to the same device as well as the delay between commands sent to different devices. Try adjusting these settings:
In the Harmony remote software on your PC, click the "Devices" tab.
For the "TV" device, click the "Settings" button.
Click the dot next to "Adjust the delays" and click Next.
Adjust the "Inter-key" and "Inter-device" delays to something higher and click Next.
