Try the steps listed below :

1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2. Remove the Battery.
Note : Please see that there are no external devices or cables connected to the Notebook.
3. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4. Reconnect the AC adapter and do NOT connect the battery now.
5. Turn on the Notebook power

If the issue persists, try these steps to reset the BIOS to its defaults :

Start or restart the Notebook and start tapping the F10 Key which will take you to the BIOS setup window.

In this, press the F10 Key again to set the settings to its default and exit the BIOS setup screen.

If the issue still persists, make sure that the Power adapter of the notebook is correctly pluged into the Notebook.

Hope this helps...

When i turn on my asphire 5050 nothing happens only the power lite is on

step one... unplug the laptop from the wall.
step two... remove the battery from the laptop
step 3...... plug the laptop back into the wall
step 4------ turn on laptop...

if it turns on you have a bad battery and it needs to be replaced...

if you have no wall power and turn on the laptop, the reverse is true... meaning your battery is fine and your power cord/inverter is bad.

You need to replace the battery as it has expired.
They are available by typing the battery model number or laptop model number into ebay or Google or indeed any search engine.
Hope that helps.

Looks like your battery is having a problem. Remove the battery and replace after a couple of hours. If problem remains replace the battery with another to test, if this works, then the problem is with the adapter unit. Get a new one.

I was using my dell laptop to access facebook i had my charger plugged in and my daughter turn off the computer via the on/off switch and now i cant turn it back on.

Made sure the switch on the wall is turned back on, and everything is plugged back in, and try to power up the laptop.
If it's still not turning on, unplug it from the adapter, take out the battery, and hold in the power button for about 30 seconds. This should do the trick. Put the battery back in, plug it in, and turn it on.
You can always try a different outlet to be absolutely certain.

Hope this helps!!

Charger was plugged in and working fine, went into

OK unplug power supply from back of laptop, remove battery, insert power supply, if NO light, on laptop, power supply is broken..Replace. IF it is OK, hold power button ON for a while, or until, the PC starts, if/when it starts, shutdown, with power ON key, and then take out power supply, replace battery, replace power supply, turn laptop on, now should be OK.

I have a new e627 used only once before today. Battery connection was partially out and screen indicated low battery. After five minutes screen went black and now I cannot power up.

Maybe your battery is totally drained.

Try to connect the AC adaptor of your laptop and plug it to the wall outlet and let it charge for 3 hours or more. When you plug it on the wall socket, it won't show the laptop's led blinking since it was totally drained. But after 3 minutes or more, it will start to show the blinking led to indicate charging. When blinking stops led light disappears, it is fully charged and ready to use.

Remember: Do not use your laptop while it is plugged in to save your battery life. When at home, remove the battery while it is fully charged and plug the AC adaptor directly to the wall outlet. It will still work without the battery as long as it is plugged directly to the wall socket.

Computer shut down

The sparking has probably caused your circuit protection inside the AC adapter to turn off the current.
Also, when you are plugging an adapter in,,do not have it plugged into the wall power outlet when plugging into the laptop,,,plug into the laptop first and then plug into the wall.

Won't turn on

how old is the system
could be your internal plug for ac may have become lose from plugging and unplugging
or you may just need a new ac cord
try moving it around where it plugs into the laptop if you get a brief connection then it probably is the connection inside the laptop they can be replaced

Toshiba satellite p105-s6217 will not power up or charge.

Larry,

  1. Unplug the laptop and remove the battery.
  2. Press the power button down and hold for 10 to 15 seconds.
  3. Press the power button 5 more times quickly.
  4. Plug the power back into the laptop without the battery and press the power button.
If the laptop powers on just put the battery back in.
