When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as user to log in if you cant log in

during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

also:

The most common way that we know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing the Cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased. Hope this helps you

How do i clear all forgotten passwords ,including dell security manager authentication password (bios)

with the power off and unplugged disconnect the hard drive for the computer. now reboot and go into the bios and try to clear the password. If it is stall asking for a password with the hard drive disconnected then clear the bios password by the jumper on the motherboard. for the cmos reset. If that does not clear it. remove the button battery and wait 5 minutes and reinsert battery and try again.

you also may have a hdd password if you do then re-post for directions on how to remove hdd passwords. Good Luck.

Password protected

If she's getting a Windows Welcome screen, then the system is booting and there's no obvious sign of a hard drive password (I've rarely seen these used anyway but they can be removed in some cases.)

1. You'll have to find a Password clear boot CD. There's one by HIRENS that can do it, but I use a simple one found by searching "Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor". You will have to know how do do these things: 1. Change the boot order of your laptop by going into the BIOS setup and make sure the boot order starts with the optical drive (be it DVD or CD) before the internal hard drive. If you cannot change the boot order due to a BIOS password, it can be cleared but you'll need to remove the CMOS clock battery and that requires taking the laptop apart.

2. Download the boot CD ISO and burn it to a physical CD. This is the recommended way to do it.

3. Get that CD you burned into the drive on the laptop and boot it.

Either CD you end up with, it will boot a small version of Linux and then give you the option at some point to clear the Windows user password. If you do not know what you're looking at to find the proper Windows install on your drive, it is suggested you have someone look for it and use the password clear CD to help you accomplish it.

It should conceivably easy to find what you need to change, and you get to see what it finds before you change anything. Ganbatte kudasai!

I need to reset the bios password

If you follow this steps guide you through the process of clearing the BIOS password.
  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Open the computer case.
  3. Swing up the drive assembly and on the motherboard, locate the light green JCMOS1 jumper block. The jumper block is located on the bottom left corner of the dual inline memory modules (DIMM) slots.
  4. Place the jumper on pins 2 and 3 for clearing the passwords.
  5. Turn on the computer. Wait for an audible beep from the computer. A message appears stating that the NVRAM and password have been cleared.
  6. Turn off the computer.
  7. Place the jumper back on pins 1 and 2 for normal operation.
  8. Return the drive assembly back to its operating position and slide the case into the sleeve.
  9. Turn on the computer.
hope that it will helped

I've got a Maxtor Blackarmour 160 GB hard drive and am locked out

Hard drive passwords are embedded in the firmware of the drive itself. You need to try to find out what the password was.

There is an article about this at this site.
