I have a problem of disabling my deepfreeze faronics standard because I can't remember my deepreeze password. Are there any solutions how to disable the software

You're going to have to put in a request for a lost password on the manufactures website.

There's no possible way to recover a lost/forgotten Deep Freeze password. But there are several ways to possibly disable/uninstall DeepFreeze.

Enterprise Version :
Deep Freeze Enterprise users can generate One Time Passwords (OTP) to gain access to deepfreeze. To generate an OTP,

1. Open the Deep Freeze login dialog on the system for which you need to generate the One Time Password.
2. Write down the Token code. It is located at the top of the login dialog.
3. Open the Deep Freeze Configuration Administrator and click the One-Time Passwords tab or open the Enterprise Console and click on Tools > One Time Password.
4. Enter the code you recorded into the Token field and click Generate OTP. Another code will appear in the OTP field. The second code is the password for the workstation.

The newly generated One-Time Password can then be used to disable, uninstall, and re-install Deep Freeze with the correct password.

For Deep Freeze evaluations (with no License Key entered) :

1. Restart the computer.
2. Enter the system BIOS settings.
3. Advance the clock by at least 60 days and then restart your computer. This will disable the software.
4. After the system has started, run the Deep Freeze installation program to uninstall Deep Freeze.
5. After the computer reboots, re-enter the BIOS and reset the clock to the current date. You can then re-install Deep Freeze after restarting.

If you are running a licensed copy of Deep Freeze Standard submit a ticket and we can look into the issue further to see if there are any other options avalalbe to assist you.

I understand that you would like to disable the deepfreeze software installed on the computer.

One or more methods can be employed to enable/disable (Freeze/Thaw) Deep Freeze depending on the version being used.
A) Locally at the workstation (Deep Freeze Standard and Enterprise):
The following steps can be used to disable (Thaw) Deep Freeze:

1. Hold down the SHIFT key and double-click the Deep Freeze icon. Alternatively, you can press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+F6. A Password dialog is displayed.
2. Enter your password and click OK. If you have not yet entered a password you should be able to click OK without entering a password. The Boot Options dialog is displayed.
3. Select "Boot Thawed" and click OK. This will disable Deep Freeze on the next reboot.
4. The same steps can be used to enable (Freeze) Deep Freeze. The only change is to select "Boot Frozen" instead of "Boot Thawed".

B) Remotely via Deep Freeze Command Line Control (Deep Freeze Enterprise only):
Deep Freeze Command Line Control (DFC.EXE) can be used to Thaw/Freeze Deep Freeze through a script or batch file. More information about using this utility can be found in the Deep Freeze Enterprise user guide available at:

C) Remotely via the Enterprise Console (Deep Freeze Enterprise only):
The Deep Freeze Enterprise Console can be used to Thaw/Freeze a workstation using the following steps:

1. Select the workstations to Thaw/Freeze.
2. Click the "Reboot in Thawed state" button to Thaw the selected workstations. The workstations should reboot and appear in the Console in a Thawed state.
3. Click the "Reboot in Frozen state" button to Freeze the selected workstations. The workstations should reboot and appear in the Console in a Frozen state.

Please try the steps and I am sure you would be able to disable the deepfreeze software.

Well, as it's said, you'll have to disable ("unfreeze") Deep Freeze before it could be uninstalled...
To do that, press SHIFT while double-clicking on the DeepFreeze icon on the notification area (near the system clock). Enter your password, and set it to be Thawed. Restart and re-do the unistall process.

If you don't remember the password, you can use DeepFreeze Unfreezer!

Faronics Deep Freeze is a very powerful application, it prevents any unwanted changes on the system by freezing an entire hard disk or partition without restricting user access. Unlike older version, Deep Freeze 6 cannot be disabled or uninstall this Deep Freeze without password. Before u reformat or install a fresh OS, try the steps below, without password. 1. Boot yr PC from the CD with windows XP, if u have Windows XP OS 2. Now enter R to repair after booting. 3. Let it continue until finish 4. Now prepare the DeepFreeze to install, u will come across a option "Uninstall Deep Freeze", select this option and click next. After finishing the uninstall, reboot yr PC. 5. Now u will find that the Deep-freeze has removed from your computer.

Hi. I think if that deepfreeze workstation program has password then you should know it and enter that password by pressing and holding CTRL+ALT+SHIFT then press F6 then enter the password. After that you must change the state to THAWED state then restart your computer. Your deepfreeze icon on the lower left should have an X marked now that is blinking, it means that your deepfreeze is already disabled, now you can uninstall it by using the same installer that you use to install your deepfreeze workstation. If you dont know the password you should have the main installer for deepfreeze 6 that creates a workstation installer and you can use that main installer to generate a password for you to login your deepfreeze workstation. Disable Deep Freeze before uninstalling it.
To disable Deep Freeze:

5. Reboot your computer. After the computer reboots, you are ready to uninstall Deep Freeze.

To uninstall:

1. Locate the installation file you used to install Deep Freeze on your computer. By default, the name of this file is called "DF5Std.exe" for versions 5.X and "DF6Std.exe" for versions 6.X.
2. Run the installation file (DF5Std.exe or DF6Std.exe).
3. Select the option to "Uninstall"

Deep Freeze is uninstalled and your computer is rebooted.
