Stand up in front of the printer. Put your hands on the left and right side of the printer. About the middle you will feel a depression on each side. Put your fingers in the depressions and gently lift the top of the printer to oepn it. You will see the ports where the USB and ethernet cables are to be connected. To close the printer push back the colored support arm back (or as depicted on the diagram.)
