Washing will not spin nor drain and there is a round red light with a gate in it on display panel have you any idea what the problem is ? an answer would be greatly appreciated thankyou

There are several things to check. First of all check if it drains before spinning. If machine drains OK, skip to check the pressure switch, the motor control unit and control.

Most common problems resulting in no spin are caused by drain system.

Check the position of the drain hose. Ensure that the height is as specified by the manual or you get siphoning and drain does not end.

Access the drain filter. With most front loaders this located in front at the base, there should be a trim or an access panel.

The machine has a pressure switch. It is a sensor connected to a long thin rubber hose. The pressure switch is often in control assembly. Clean the hose and the switch. One way to test it is by blowing into the switch, but manufacturers say this must not be done.
The pressure switch is difficult to test in full.

Most machines have a tech sheet tucked inside the control panel assembly. You take off panel that is held by a couple of screws and see if there is the envelope with the sheet.

The rest of testing is more complex because concerns motor and motor control unit. The motor control unit is a module located inside the machine. Testing of this parts is done reading voltages and Ohms at the motor and at control units contacts. This must be done by a technician.
